(This is a new P.O.V. that's outside of Kaelynn and her family's. So this is different for me.)
Mason's P.O.V.
"Oh, Mason! Are you ready?" I heard Regina sing, walking down the stairs. She was in a very short and very tight dress that would make most of the guys swoon over her. It only made me want to gag. I really dislike her taste in clothing, I like how Kaelynn dresses. She looks comfy all the time.
"Yes. The bedrooms, dining room, kitchen, private rooms, and attic is all locked up, right?" I asked, straightening my plaid shirt and jeans.
"Yeah, baby. It's all good. Now, can you put on this necklace?" Regina held up a necklace I had never seen before.
"Where did you get that?" I asked, grabbing the necklace and putting it on her.
"I bought it."
"With your money?" I wasn't trying to call her broke or anything, but the necklace looks mighty expensive.
Regina shook her head. "No, with yours."
I widened my eyes. "Why?"
"Because you're wealthy, right? You're heir to a rich family, right?"
Wait, how did she know all this? Did Kaelynn tell her? No, she would never do that. She doesn't even talk to Regina. And if I'm correct, and I know my girlfriend, she doesn't talk to what she considers "minors". Meaning people that means nothing to her.
"How do you know that?" I asked.
Regina stared at me for a whole minute. "No reason." Then, she walked away. I sighed. She could be so difficult at times.
"The first people will be here any minute!" Regina hissed checking through the peephole that nobody was there. "Make sure everything is in place. Is the DJ here?"
"Yes," I groaned, glancing at the guy behind turntables. "He's been here over thirty minutes ago."
"Quick, play some music! A car just pulled up!" Regina began fixing up her curled hair and her make-up in the mirror beside the door.
I spun my finger around and the DJ, who has came here so much I know his actual name is Steve, and he gave me a thumbs up as he played a pre-party track. Regina put on a smile in the mirror before opening the door to her best friends.
I dug my hands in my pockets, and went to check that the food and refreshments were in place, and that there was more in the basement. Knowing that Kaelynn wasn't going to be here for sure made me not in a party mood anymore.
We had decided to start the party a little earlier, and maybe they'll leave earlier too. The sun was starting to set, and I checked my phone to see the time was 7:22. Having nothing better to do, I called Kaelynn.
"Mase?" She answered, and I smiled at the nickname.
"Yeah, it's me."
"Hey! What's up?"
"Just wanted to call you. I have nothing else to do."
"I thought you had a party to get ready for?" Kaelynn asked.
I messed with the top on a bottle of soda. "Nah, the party's starting right now. You sure you don't want to drop by for a few minutes? Maybe for a song or two?"
"That sounds great, but I have to get ready too. Plus, I have Becky with me."
"Oh, so you made up with little ol' Reba, huh? That's nice."
