23 - The Dinner

Kaelynn's P.O.V.

                             We were back at the hotel, getting ready for dinner at some fancy restraunt. Ever since we kissed, Mason hasn't said a word about it or Regina. Did he not like it? I'm sure he regrets it. I mean, he just cheated on his girlfriend wirh me. Even though she cheated first. But, I know he doesn't like to be stooped to her level.

I had called Tam and Ti, and told them everything. They were screaming for joy, and Ti said something about 'shipping' us. Then, they asked about Regina. I would tell them about what happened, but it wasn't my place to say anything. So, I said that I didn't know.

"You ready?" Mason asked me. I love how he doesn't act like anything's change between us, even though EVERYTHING is different. He wore a black tuxedo, and I wore a nice red dress.

"Yep," I answered, smiling slightly.

We left to the hotel's restraunt, which is just as classy as the hotel itself. Mason had reserved a table, and the woman had asked if I was his boyfriend.

What were we? Friends? More than friends? Less than friends? I would totally understand if he didn't eant to be friends anymore. I made him cheat on his girlfriend. No matter how much I didn't like her, I'm a horrible person for doing that.

I didn't hear Mason's answer because I was too lost in my thoughts, but we were whisked away to an available table. I stared at the menu, scared to say anything. Should we talk about it? Does he want to talk about it?

"What are you going to order?" Mason asked, making me jump.

"Uhhh..." I searched for the cheapest thing, which was shrimp in cocktail sauce. "I'm having shrimp."

Mason chuckled, and lowered my menu with a finger. "Don't tell me you're getting the cheapest thing, are you?"

I began blushing and looked away. "I'm just not all that hungry right now."

"Not even hungry for a little cheesecake for dessert?"

I gulped and tried to get my mind off of what he said. It triggered another memory, and I had to try and forget about it. "N-not really."

"Kay, what's wrong? You haven't been the same since earlier today."

Because of that kiss! I wanted to say that, but I just sighed. "No reason. I'm perfectly fine, Mase."

Our waiter came and took our order, and Mason had ordered a bottle of champagne. The kind we had last night with the pie. Until we had our order, we sat in silence. And after we got them, we still sat in silence. It wasn't until dessert that words were exchanged.

"Kaelynn, talk to me. Are you okay? What's up?"

Is he really that oblivious? I toyed with the cheesecake, then looked up at him. "Really, Mason?" I whispered.

"Tell me. Because it's really killing me."

Was he playing with me? Or did he really not understand? "What happened earlier today!" I hissed.

Mason ate a forkful of cake and shrugged. "Yeah. And?"

"Don't you feel horrible? You cheated on your girlfriend! That's not right!"

"I'm aware, Kaelynn."

"Then...why aren't you mad?"

Mason shook his head. "No reason."

"Did you...did you like it?"

Mason froze and looked into my eyes. "What?"

I turned all shy all of a sudden. "Did you like it, Mason?"

"Kaelynn--"

"Because I am soooo sorry! I don't want to be the cause of you two splitting up! You probably secretly hate me, and I'm sorry! You two should stay together, and I should leave! Maybe we shouldn't be friends anymore, Mason!"

With that, I stood up and ran away, hearing Mason call my name. I couldn't stop and wait for him. I was already in tears, and I didn't want him to see me like this. Our frienship was destroyed, and now I had more problems to deal with. Oh, how I wish my mom was here! Maybe I just wasn't meant to be loved. I wasn't meant to be out here in the real world.

I was meant to be an orphan.

A/N: Awwww, poor KayKay! I feel bad writing this! *sips hot tea*
