Kaelynn's P.O.V.

My eyes opened to a blurred world, and I closed them quickly. Whispered voices were around me and I recoginzed them as the twins, Char, and Becky. So, I opened my eyes again, and tried to get them used to my surroundings. The first thing I saw was a picture of Becky, and realized we were still in her home.

"She's awake!" Ti hissed, and I turned my head to see her and her sister.

"What happened?" I asked, my voice unintentionally cracking a bit. I sat up slowly and stretched.

"You had a panic attack," Tam responded.

My eyebrows scrunched up in confusion, until the events rushed back to me. How I was just sitting in Becky's house, and then I saw who looked like Brian coming up. And that's how it started.

"Oh my god, are you okay, Kaelynn?" Becky asked, now bending by my side.

"Yeah, I am." I smiled in assurance.

"What happened?" She asked.

"Erm..." Crap, what was I supposed to tell her? That I have mental issues because my mom died, I've had to deal with a crazy old woman stalking us, and my mom's boyfriend is mysterious and I hate him?!? No, because I could possibly lose her, and I don't want that.

"Where's Char?" I asked, attempting to change the topic.

"She went to the bathroom," Tam responded, again.

"I was worried about you," Becky continued. "I had went to get Tamara straight away, I was scared. Then, she said that it happens, and I was wondering why?"

Yeah, I've had a few panic attacks while I was living with the twins. At first, they didn't understand what was going on or why, and neither did I. Then, as more occured, we realized it was because of the stress that's been put on me, because of the death of my mother, and all that stuff. Like the whole Brian situation, and that Ann lady, and needing to protect Char from them. And the twins are aware of them all, except for Ann. I haven't told them about her, probably because I don't want them to act like they're protecting me and Char from the "big, bad world".

The twins looked at me, as if silently asking me to inform Becky of my past. Instead of giving a response, I sighed.

"I haven't had the best life, if you know what I mean," I offered to my newest friend.

"Is it your mom? You told me she was nice and all." Becky had a very confused look on her face.

Maybe saying that to her wasn't such a good idea. But, I'll have to finish what I've started.

"Well, yeah. She was nice and all, like my family...when she was alive."

As soon as I had said that, an uncomfortable silence hung over the room, and I couldn't stand it. So I left. To go to the police station. They must have some more things to tell me about the incident.

With my hands running over my arms, I stepped inside the cool building, and over to Officer Dun's desk. He's the one I always go to for answers.

"Hello, Kaelynn," he greeted. Officer Dun was a decent size guy, not too big but not too small. He has a bit if a mustache, and somewhat messy hair. And his skin always has a pink tinge to it. I don't know why, but it does. It reminds me of a shrimp. A shrimp in clothes and a mustache and--FOCUS KAELYNN.

"Hi, Officer." I leaned on his desk with a small smile.

"I bet you're in here for your mother."

I gasped. "How did you know?" I joked.

"That's a secret I'll never tell," he chuckled, and I let out a small laugh. He was an alright dude.

"So, anything new?" I asked.

"Sorry, Kaelynn. There hasn't been anything new in the last few weeks."

I sighed in annoyance. "That doesn't make any sense. There has to be some suspects!"

"And there are! But, they didn't comitt the crime."

I groaned. "That's not fair!"

"I know, Sweetheart. We'll catch them one day. Even if it takes us years to do it."

"But, I don't want to wait years for it to happen! I want to know now!"

He shrugged. "I'm sorry. There's nothing I can do."

"Well, can I look back there for myself? I have to know! Could I look at any evidence, pictures, something?" I was desperate to find out everything that happened, why it happened, and who caused it to happen.

Dun looked around to make sure there weren't any other officers close to us, before he leaned in and whispered in my ear. "Come back this Friday at eight. The guys are supposed to be going out, and I'll be alone for a few hours."

I smiled at him. "Thanks, Officer Dun!"

I left the station happier than I was in months. I can finally give the case a crack. Sure, I don't know anything about evidence or laws or anything, but I can atleast try. That's what Mama would have wanted me to. Or not get involved. But, I'm hard-headed, so I'm going with the first.
