She is Your Humanity: Chapter 11

I stand in the crypt that Esther likes so much and wait as she talks to Finn and Kol about other ways to get Klaus without me. Ever since I killed Mikael she no longer trusts me and has turned to her idiot mama's boys. After a few moments, she walks out to me and a smile crosses her face. 

"Hello, Katerina. How are we today?" She asks 

"What do you think, Esther? Klaus is never going to die if you send them on the mission." I motion my head to the two men behind her 

"You had a chance to kill Klaus yesterday and instead you killed Mikael, I obviously can't trust you." 

"Oh blow me, Esther. Sending Mikael after Klaus was stupid to begin with, he was going to kill Camille as well as Davina and Kol as soon as he got the chance." I explain 

"See, that's what's wrong with you, you're letting your emotions for your friend Camille get in the way of your mission." 

"Oh like Kol hasn't been falling in love with that girl, Davina. Remember the last time you and Finn tried to kill Klaus, it didn't work and it won't work now."  I roll my eyes 

"Well Katherine, I didn't have the power last time and now my mother no longer has to draw from the Bennett line, I say we'll be successful." Finn speaks up 

I'm about to say something else when my phone rings, Klaus's name sprawled across the screen. I answer it and put a finger to my lips, shushing those around me. Klaus tells me that he wants all of us to 

"I'll tell them. Goodbye Klaus." I hang up and look towards them "We've been invited to brunch, today."

I get to the compound before Esther and her sons and I'm greeted by Elijah. He smiles at me but I don't smile back, looking around the compound. 

"I came early as Klaus told me, now where is he?" I ask 

He doesn't need to answer as Klaus comes descending down the stairs, walking straight towards us. He pats Elijah on the shoulder which I guess signals that he doesn't need him anymore and he takes a seat at the table that's covered with food. Klaus leads me up to an office and shuts the door behind us. 

"You said you wanted to talk about my mother, let's talk then." Klaus starts the conversation 

"We need to kill her." I state 

Klaus turns around to me and his face is covered in interest, his brows raised. "Is that so?" 

"It is so. Your mother is really putting a kink in my plans." I say, my chin raised 

"You mean your plan to kill me? Now, why would I want to kill someone who can stop you from killing me?" He asks 

"Just because she's stopping me doesn't mean she won't get someone else to do it. Since I killed Mikael, she doesn't trust me which means she's given the mission to Kol and Finn." I explain 

Klaus pauses for a moment and I can tell that he's listening to something downstairs and that's when I hear the voices of Esther, Finn, and Kol. Klaus brushes past me and walks out the door, I wait a few moments and walk out to the room crowded. Everyone is standing around, Hayley, Elijah, Tatia, and Klaus with Esther, Kol, and Finn. I make my way downstairs and when I join Klaus motions us to sit down. Everyone takes a seat and the last one open is strategically in between Elijah and Tatia. 

"Really Klaus?" I say pulling out the chair

"What? I'm not the one who made the seating chart, you can thank Elijah for that." He smiles at his brother 

I silently take my seat, scooting it over closer to Tatia as everyone watches me do it, Elijah especially. When I realize that everybody is waiting for me, I clear my throat. 

"Well, you wanted us. Are you just gonna sit here and stare at me or are we going to talk?" I raise my brow 

"Ah, yes. Let's talk." Klaus smiles

We all sit around the large table and quietly chew on our food. Klaus smiles like a weirdo as Esther takes a sip of her juice. She takes a big gulp before turning to her son. 

"So, Niklaus, have you thought about my offer?" She asks 

"Mother, why would I want to stop being the most powerful being on this planet just so you can feel better about your decision to turn us into vampires, hm?" 

"It's not just for me, it's for you, my children as well. I want you guys to have a clean slate as Kol and Finn here." She smiles at Finn, grabbing his hand 

"Yes, thank you, Mother. Klaus, Elijah, please reconsider the offer." Finn speaks 

"Elijah, please, think about it. You would no longer harm or kill the ones you love." Esther suggests looking between me and Tatia 

I scoff at her and she shoots a glare my way and I put my hands up in defense, letting out a small chuckle. 

"I'm sorry, Esther, it's just funny how you think putting them in witch bodies will give them clean slates. They're still murderers and nothing will change that. Take Finn for example." I motion my head towards him 

"What do you mean, Katerina?" Elijah chimes in 

"Finn is still killing people, witches and werewolves alike because they don't want to work for your bitch of a mother." I take a sip of my drink 

"I'd watch your mouth, Katherine." Esther threatens me 

"What are you going to do? Melt my insides? Make me kidnap Elijah again? Your threats are empty to me, Esther. You want to kill me, fine, do it. Do it!" I shout at her, standing abruptly from my chair 

Esther just sits there with a scowl on her face as Klaus smiles at my sudden outburst. I stand for a moment longer when Esther gets out of her seat. She puts her hands up and starts to chant something when Elijah speeds out of his chair, pinning Esther to the nearest wall by her throat. 

"Say one word of a spell and I'll rip your tongue out of your mouth." He threatens her 

Kol and Finn go to do something when both Hayley and Klaus trap them with shackles around their wrist. I quickly grab the shackles that I hid in my jacket and walk over to Elijah and Esther. He forces her wrist towards me and I latch them around her waist. 

"Checkmate."
