She is Your Humanity: Chapter 14

I wake up to a pair of arms wrapped around my waist and I turn to see a sleeping Elijah. The room is silent except for the breathing leaving both of us. I try to move his arms but he stirs in his sleep, slowly opening his eyes.

"Good Morning, Katerina." He smiles

"Elijah, you should not be smiling right now. Did you forget what I did last night?" I ask, mad getting up from the bed and moving towards the bathroom

I turn on the light and turn to the mirror, the fact that I'm a vampire and my eyes are still red from last night means I cried way too much. I turn on the tap and splash some water on my face and rub my eyes. I look back into the mirror and watch as the red starts to go away and my eyes stop being swollen. Elijah comes stalking into the room and I can't help but let out a frustrated huff as I avoid eye contact.

"Katerina, of course, I didn't forget but it doesn't matter. What really matters is that you didn't kill Klaus." He tries to reason

"Elijah, stop. You're supposed to hate me right now, fuck, I even hate myself right now. I could have killed Klaus and then his daughter would have grown up without a father. I've got to go." I say, rushing past him and out the door

I run down the stairs and of course, he follows me down calling my name. I try to ignore him and make my way to the gates of the compound when suddenly Klaus appears in front of me.

"Good Morning, Katherine. Where do you think you're going?" He asks

"I'm leaving Klaus. I tried to kill you last night so I don't think I'm very welcomed here."

"That is precisely why you're staying here, Katherine. My mother and dear brother Finn have found a way to escape and I don't trust you not to run to them." He explains, arms crossing his chest

"You really think I'm that stupid, Klaus. I basically stabbed Esther in the back, if anything, she's going to try finding me and then kill me."

"Then you will stay here under Elijah and I's protection, away from the wrath of Esther." He smirks

I scoff and roll my eyes and look back at Elijah and he just keeps his lips in a thin line and shrugs his shoulders agreeing with his brother as always.

"And why would you protect me. hm? I just tried to kill you as I keep mentioning." I state

"But you didn't kill me, Katherine. You made the conscious decision to let me live so Hope grows up with a father and I am eternally grateful for that."

"Well, I did it for her, not you. Well if I'm going to be here, what's there to eat?" I ask, raising my brow

I'm sitting on a couch reading when a smiling Klaus walks into the room, his arms twisted behind his back. I mark my book and lay it down next to me and look up at him, examining him. I let out a huff and stand up.

"What do you want, Klaus?" I ask

"You've been in here for hours and I remember you mentioning something about food?" He questions, suspiciously I might add

"I don't trust you, Klaus. Last night I tried to kill you and now today you're being suspiciously nice. I don't like that."

"Okay, I'll tell you the truth. I need you to call your friend Bonnie Bennett." He states

"And why do I need to call here?"

"Because, Katerina, we need her to wipe Kol and Davina's mind of anything they heard about Hope." An eager Elijah walks in with an answer

"Of course you need something from me." I roll my eyes

"Well, you either call Bonnie, or I kill you. Pretty simple." Klaus threatens

I let out a chuckle as I look back at Elijah. "Is this guy serious?"

"Call her, Katerina. For me." Elijah basically pouts

"I'm not calling Bonnie-" I say but am interrupted by Klaus

"Okay, death it is." Klaus moves in closer to me and I stop him with my hand

"Before you try and fail, might I add, to kill me; I'm not calling Bonnie because I have a witch here that's a lot closer." I state, backing up from Klaus

I bend down to grab my book and pick it up, tucking it under my arm. I look between Klaus and Elijah before pulling my phone out and dialing it. After a few rings, she answers and we have a short conversation before I hang up.

"She's on her way, now we just need to get Kol and Davina over here." I state, slipping the phone back in my pocket

An hour later the witch is here and Kol and Davina are on their way into the compound. I stand at the entrance while the others hide and watch as they walk in hand in hand.

"Well aren't you too looking cute?" I smile

"Katherine, let's skip the pleasantries. Why did you call us here?" Kol asks, his voice laced with annoyance

"Well Kol, I need a favor from you guys."

He goes to answer when the witch comes out chanting something, the two witches falling to the ground, passed out. Well, that was easy. After Michelle checks to see if they're out, Klaus and Elijah come to get them up and place them in chairs at the table.

"You asked Klaus and I delivered. Michelle, sweetie, get to work." I fake smile

The three of us are silent as the witch presses her hands to Kol's head and starts chanting something as she pulls his head back towards her chest. It's a moment before we see Michelle throw her head back, her eyes turning a grey-white. Once her eyes turn back to her natural color she looks towards me and shakes her head yes as she moves towards Davina. We watch as she does the same routine to Davina. She finishes and looks at the three of us.

"It's done. Now, Katherine, where is this payment I was promised?" She questions, holding out her hand

"Ah, yes. I almost forgot. I'll be back with it." I offer her a small smile

I go to walk past her and she looks down at something and I take the perfect opportunity to speed over to her and sink my teeth into her neck, the warmth of her blood running down my throat. When I've had enough I let her go and reach my hands around her throat and snap it and she falls to the ground. I lick my lips and I look over to a surprised Klaus and Elijah.

"What? I said I was hungry." I laugh it off "Plus, you were just gonna kill her anyway so-" I shrug my shoulders

Davina and Kol both start to stir and Klaus quickly calls one of his "security" guards to take the body out. As soon as he leaves they wake up and both look around, a little confused.

"Katherine, what are we doing here?" Kol asks

"Um... Kol. I called about dinner." I look at him like I'm confused

"That's right, I remember. You needed help finding my mother and Finn, right?" He asks

I smile at him and shake my head "Yes, Kol, yes I do."
