Chapter 9

I wake up suddenly to a burst of sunlight in my face. "Rise and shine, sweetheart."

 I look up to see a smiling Rebekah. Elijah moans next to me and rolls over to see whats happening. He sees Rebekah and quickly covers up.

"Rebekah, what are you doing?" He asks sleepily 

"Relax, if I see something I haven't seen before, I'll throw a dollar at it." She smiles 

"Seriously, Rebekah. Get out." I groan 

"We have plans. Now get ready." She demands 

"What time is it?" Elijah asks 

"Its 9. I'm about to go wake up Hayley." 

"You mean nine in the morning? Why didn't you wake her up first?" I snap at her 

"It's because I love torturing you." She says walking out 

I give her this scowl as she walks away and I hear Elijah laughs beside me. 

"If looks could kill." He gets up out of the bed 

"Do I really have to do this?" I ask 

"Yup, for me. Remember?" 

"Yes, I remember and I regret my decision."  I frown 

"You'll be fine. Just avoid all conversation." He chuckles

I get a pillow and throw it at the back of his head. "It's not funny. Your sister hates me and for what? Something I didn't do. I'd much rather keep running from Klaus than go shopping with your sister."  

"This will be a perfect way to get you guys friendly with each other." 

"Ha. Have you met me?" I snark 

"I have met you, and I love you. Now get dressed, big day ahead of you." He winks 

After awhile I get downstairs and see an impatient Rebekah and a tired Hayley waiting for me. 

"Jeez Rebekah. Look at the girl, she's exhausted." 

Rebekah turns to her and looks her up and down. "She's right. You look exhausted. Why don't you go back to bed? Katherine and I will wake you up in an hour or two." She smiles 

"Thanks guys." She says as she walks up the stairs 

Elijah comes walking down as she's gong up and he smiles at her. "Good Morning." 

She just simply waves at him and she's off on her way. 

"Where is she going?" He ask 

"She's way too tired to be up this early. When are you and Klaus leaving?" 

"He's still asleep so I don't know when." He says

"Good, I'm going to go to the store and get real food. We can't let Hayley starve now can we?" I grab my purse and keys 

"So we aren't just going to be stuck here?" Rebekah raises her brow 

"Look, Barbie Klaus. You can suck up your hatred for me and come with or you can stay and babysit and I'll bring Elijah with me. Either way I'm getting food for that girl." I start to walk out the door when I hear a wait.

"I'll come with you, as long as I get to drive." Rebekah tries to negotiate 

Without a word I throw my keys at her and she catches them. "Man, I was hoping to hit you in the face." I cock my head to the side and smile

She smiles mockingly back at me and I just turn around and walk straight out the door. She unlocks the car, gets in, and then locks it back right as I go for the handle. She smiles at me and unlocks the door. 

"You wouldn't have been able to hit me in the face anyway?" She brags 

"How so?" I ask 

"I've been a vampire for a thousand year, my reflexes are REALLY good. Nothing gets passed me."

"Hmm." I chuckle 

"What?" She looks at me 

"Elena daggered you. Your brother daggered you. Your mother possessed your body. Your-"

"Okay! I get it. So, why are you so worried about Hayley's health?" She questions

"She's pregnant and I'm partly to blame for it happening." I look out the window 

"So you did send William after her?" 

"No, I didn't. But even if I did it wouldn't be any of your business." I snap 

"No, it wouldn't be. There has to be another reason though." She looks over at me again

"I know Klaus isn't to adamant about Hayley being pregnant, I'm not saying he's going to be a bad father or anything but Klaus has a temper. Who knows what he could do." 

"He wouldn't do anything to hurt his child, I know he wouldn't." 

"Let's hope not. He strives to not be like Mikael, but there are some things that they have in common." I state 

"Klaus is nothing like Mikael!" Rebekah raises her voice 

"Klaus killed your mother. He daggered every one of your siblings and you. He hunted me down for five hundred years like Mikael hunted him for a thousand years." 

"Yes, but Mikael killed a whole village because of one person." She tries to defend him 

"Rebekah, you're not really making a case for him. Elijah thinks he would be a great father and that this baby could give Klaus a shot at redeeming himself. I'm going to stand behind Elijah even though I might not agree with him." 

Before I know it we pull into the store parking lot. We get to the carts and its one of those stupid carts where you have to put a quarter in to get it.

"You got a quarter?" I turn to Rebekah 

"Do I look like I got a quarter." She snarks at me 

"I don't know, old people carry lots of change." I smile 

I go into my purse and pull a quarter out and put it into the cart, un-linking the chain. 

"You're right, old people do carry lots of change." She snickers  

"I'm not old. You are. Miss A Thousand Years Old." 

"Are we really going to do this outside of a grocery store? Just give me the cart and let's go." She tries to grab it from me 

"Oh no, you get your own cart." I go to walk off 

"I need a quarter." She huffs 

"Sounds like a personal problem." I smile and walk away  

After a few minutes later Rebekah comes up beside, without a cart. I say nothing as I start grabbing things I know Hayley will need. Yogurt, milk, eggs, cereal, etc. 

"Why do we need all of this?" Rebekah asks 

"Hayley is pregnant, she's going to need calcium. Oh! And Pre-Natal vitamins." I walk off with the cart to the medicine section 

"Are we done yet?" Rebekah complains behind me 

"You probably should have stayed home, you complain to much." I exhaust 

"Like Elijah is any better, all he does is complain. It's quite annoying really." She laughs 

"At least you know you guys are related." That's all I say as I walk off to the register
