She is Your Humanity: Chapter 5

While Tatia is off doing whatever Esther wants her to do I decide to make a stop at Rousseau's. Cami is working today so I sit at the bar. 

"So Cami, Marcel?" I ask as she pours me a drink

"Marcel. I feel kind of bad because of everything with Klaus." 

"Because of his baby?" I ask 

"Not only that but the fact that I actually like him. It's too bad that his baby died though. Oh, another customer, I'll be right back." She smiles 

A couple of stools down a man with dark hair and a suit sits down. "Bourbon please." He smiles at Cami

I can not believe the day that I come into Rousseau's Elijah Mikaelson has to sit two stools down from me. Cami gives him his drink and they talk for a minute or so before she comes back to me. 

"You know, Elijah has been acting different since you left." 

"It's been seven months, he should be over me by now." I take a swig 

"I thought you loved him." She states 

"Oh, you didn't hear Camille? Apparently, she never loved me and was only using me to try and kill Niklaus." He states no looking over at us 

"He knew who I was when he started dating me. That's your fault if I'm being honest." I shrug my shoulders 

"Clearly you have some things to work out so I'm going to go clean some tables." Cami says awkwardly 

Elijah, obviously mad, gets off his stool and sits right next to me. He sits there for a minute in silence surely thinking about what to say. 

"Why did my mom resurrect Tatia? And tell me the truth." He demands 

"As I said earlier she needed human doppelganger blood to turn me into an original. The last time I checked the only human doppelganger your mother knows is Tatia. So."

 I get up from my seat and go to walk away but Elijah grabs my wrist and turns me to him. He looks me in my eyes and his face is just sad. 

"Katerina." He whispers 

"I'm sorry about the baby." I apologize before leaving 

Once I get outside I back myself against the wall and let out a breath. I take a few seconds to breathe as I force my tears back. That's when Esther calls.

Klaus's POV 

I'm sitting alone in the compound while Hayley is out in the bayou and Elijah off somewhere probably getting drunk because of Katherine. I'm finishing up my painting from earlier when I hear the gates open. 

"Hello! Niklaus are you here?" 

Tatia, what is she doing here? I toss my brush into the waters and wipe the paint off of my hands. I walk downstairs and Tatia is staring at the Mikaelson crest, her hands crossed behind her back. She turns around and smiles up at me and she looks as radiant as I remember. She's wearing this long beautiful white spaghetti strap dress with sandals. I try to hide the smile on my face. 

"Tatia." I say 

"How did you know it was me?" She asks 

"Just something innocent about you. Also, you have your accent." I can't help but laugh 

"Oh, I didn't even think about that." She looks towards the ground

"I don't mean to be rude but what exactly are you doing here?" 

"I was told by Esther to come see you. But I also want to give my apologies for your loss, I heard about your child. I am very sorry." She apologizes 

"How did you know about that?" I ask

"Katherine took me to her friend Marcel, he told us." 

"He had no right to tell you about that!" I shout 

She visibly jumps at the sound of my voice and backs away a little. Even though she's obviously scared, she doesn't take her eyes off me. I don't know what my mother's plan is for her but I can't help but feel bad that I shouted at her. 

"I'm sorry for raising my voice. Why did my mom resurrect you?" I ask 

She makes her thinking face that I remember as she looks towards the ground. After a moment or so she looks back up at me. 

"I-I don't know. All I know is that I was supposed to come to see you." She answers 

"Of course, I should have known that this would happen. Look, I know my mother sent you here but I don't want to see you or hear from you. Do you understand?" I snap 

As if she didn't get my warning she inches closer to me, being cautious as she does so. She cups my cheek with her hand and smiles at me. 

"I'm not just here because of your mother, I'm also here because I want you. I want us to be together again." 

As much as I miss the warmth of her hand against my skin, I can't let her get away with what she's trying to do to me. I grab her wrist, tighten my grip slightly, and drop her hand by her side. 

"You can't fool me, Tatia. Even if you don't know it, I know what my mother is trying to do and I won't let it happen. I may have loved you a thousand years ago but that stopped when you chose my brother over me. Now leave before I rip your heart from your chest." I threaten 

She doesn't say anything as she just blinks at my statement, me staring back at her. Her lips turn into a thin line as she shakes her head. She backs away from me but still doesn't leave my presence. 

"If you want to kill me Niklaus, here I stand. Rip my heart out and put it on a stick to show your mother that you aren't going to play into her silly games. Kill me." She practically begs 

There's this sudden feeling of reluctance as I hear her beg me to kill her and I freeze in my place. I just watch as she smiles at me. 

"That's my boy. I knew you still loved me Niklaus." She winks as she finally leaves the compound
