Chapter 16

Katherine's POV 

Little Gilbert comes down with a sandwich for Amara and walks past me and places the plate on the chair. 

"I remember you." She says 

"I don't think so." He moves to walk away 

"You're the hunter, I never forget a face." 

There was a moment of silence before she freaks out. "No, don't touch me." 

We look around and no one is there. I look at her confused and a little more with each sentence. 

"You're dead, aren't you?" She asks 

Nothing. "Of course I can see you, I have eyes." 

"Who is she talking to?" I ask Jeremy 

"She's talking to Bonnie. She died to bring me back after you killed me, remember?" He asks 

"She's the anchor, isn't she?" Elijah asks 

I look over towards him and now I'm even more confused. What the hell is an anchor? Elijah can see the confusion and answers my unspoken question. 

"The anchor to the other side. I've heard about you, from none other than travelers. We all thought it was a myth." He explains 

"Well, it's not because I'm right here." 

"I think I just found a way to bring Bonnie back." Jeremy suddenly leaves 

I look between Elijah and Klaus. "What the hell has been happening here?" 

I look over to Amara and I shake my head. "Can you try not to kill yourself? We'll be right back." 

We all get upstairs and they're all talking with Rebekah listening to every word. They're talking about making Bonnie the anchor because Silas is on his way to kill Amara and once she dies, the other side, gone. 

"There's nothing to draw on. There's no full moon and no comet for another 145 years." Damon makes a good point 

I have an idea and I hate myself a little when I blurt it out. I could care less if Bonnie Bennett came back to life or not, but I want Elijah to see that I'm "changing". 

"Qetsiyah can use us. We're supernatural and there's three of us so it should work." 

Everyone looks shocked as they turn to me and Stefan gets on the phone right away, I assume to call the woman. 

"Katherine... looks like you being here turned out to be super helpful." Damon smirks 

"I didn't plan on helping. I just came to see all the action." 

About half an hour later the bell at the door rings. A woman with brown hair and brown eyes walks in the door and she's actually beautiful. She looks over at me and looks me up and down. 

"You must be Katherine. I heard about you, you guys all look alike but I can tell you're the best." She smiles 

"Is that a compliment?" I ask 

"Maybe. Where is she?" 

"Someone can lead you to her but first, I'm going to need that immortality spell that Silas has or no doppelganger blood for you." I demand 

"Fine, as long as Amara is dead and Silas is on the other side with me forever. Doomed to deal with me for all eternity." 

I lead her downstairs to Amara and leave her there.

Everyone joins in the room and the three of us and Qetsiyah stand around a table. She goes around cutting our hands and dropping them onto this paper and she starts chanting. 

(Pretend it goes with the story) 

We all look around looking for Stefan, Qetsiyah, and Amara. It seems Klaus and Elijah are gone too. I'm left in the room with everyone else asking questions. 

"How in the hell did you lose Amara?" I ask 

"It doesn't matter if we lost her, we need to find her. Katherine, you and Elena look for Amara, I'll go find Stefan. Chances are that's where Amara is too." 

We all agree and Elena and I go in a different direction from Damon. We grab a candle holder and start walking upstairs. 

"So you and Elijah, again?" Elena looks towards me 

"Why is everyone so surprised over that? I love him and I meant it when I said that." I open a door to a room 

"I'm just surprised you care about him. You're kind of a bad person." 

"So is Damon, but you're still with him. People can change and that's exactly what I'm trying to do." I explain 

"Whatever you say." 

About ten minutes later we find Qetsiyah in the living room. She has this metal firepoker in her chest and she leaning against the railing. Elena takes it out of her shoulder and picks hers up

"It's just a flesh wound. Get up." We get back to the room and Qetsiyah starts the spell again 

I look over and the three original musketeers enter the room. 

"Where were you guys?" I ask 

"We saw Stefan take Amara, we were looking for her. Where is she?" Elijah asks 

"She's dead, Silas is dead, and Bonnie's now the anchor to the other side. I have to go find Qetsiyah, she promised me something and I'm going to collect." 

I walk off leaving them in the room and search for Qetsiyah, I finally find her. I get closer and I can see the glass on the floor. I go to grab her shoulder as she falls to the ground, blood gushing out of her. I quickly bite my wrist and put it up to her mouth, hoping she gets my blood in her system. After a minute or so of trying to give her blood to heal she finally dies. 

"No! Damn it." 

"What's wrong, Katerina?" I hear Elijah from behind me 

"She's dead. The bitch killed herself." 

"Why are you so mad?" He asks

I needed that immortality spell, I needed it to save myself from Klaus. Now when I try to kill him I'm going to die. 

"I tried feeding her my blood, I tried helping her but I was too late. She promised me something and now... now I don't know what I'm going to do." 

"Katerina, what did she promise you?" He questions 

I hesitate to answer because what I say next could make and break our relationship. 

"She promised me... she promised me immortality."
