She is Your Humanity: Chapter 19

I grab the blanket that Elijah and I found and wrapped it around my body, sitting up. Finn tosses some clothes on the floor next to us that I just noticed he had. 

"Get dressed. We've got a lot to talk about." He states before he turns around, Elijah and I quickly toss the clothes on 

He turns back towards us and he smiles "Good, now that you're dressed, wanna tell me where our beautiful niece is?" He asks 

"I don't know what you're talking about, brother. Katerina and I here are just on a little vacation from Niklaus." He answers, looking over at me and smiling

"Yup, just a little vacation from your annoying little brother." I insult "Why did you have to come here and ruin it all? You originals, I swear." I roll my eyes 

Finn just looks at the two of us and he lets out a bellowing laugh. Elijah and I both give him a weird look as he just continues to do it. After a second he stops and he goes back to being serious. 

"You guys don't really think I believe you, do you?" He asks 

"There isn't anything to believe or not. Our niece has been dead, for months now, I think you and mother really need to get over your obsession." Elijah states 

"Let's stop playing around here, Elijah. I know the child is alive, I did a locator spell, and it led me here where you guys are just 'coincidently' having a vacation? Plus, you aren't capable of leaving Nikalus alone for more than a day." 

Elijah and I just look at each other and I nod my head, knowing what he's thinking. I give a small smile before we both speed over to Finn and grab both his arms, throwing him to the ground. He groans in pain as wavers his hand and a pickaxe flies towards us, hitting Elijah in the back. He falls down as he tries to reach for it. 

"Elijah!" I yell running over to him "What the hell man?" I look to Finn 

"Move out of the way, Katherine. I'm not here for you, even though mother really wants me to bring you back with me. So just tell me where Hope is and I'll spare you." He offers  

I look away from him and back at Elijah who is shaking his head no at me and that's when I get my idea. 

"You really mean it, that if I tell you where Hope is, you'll let me go?" I ask, making sure what I'm hearing is correct

"Yes, just a location. I won't tell anyone who I found out from." He continues 

I look down at Elijah whose face is covered in knowing. 

"What about him? Can you make him forget?" I ask as I stand up and move a little closer to Finn 

"Katerina, no!" He manages to get out 

I ignore Elijah's plea and make my way closer to Finn, he hesitates but lets me in closer anyway. I step in closer and take a sneak peek back at Elijah who is looking away from us. I turn back to face Finn and now I'm right next to him. I give him a quick smile right before I take his head in my hands and snap. He falls to the ground and I run back over to Elijah and kneel down behind him as I reach for the pickaxe. In one quick motion, I grab the handle and yank it out of him, he shouts out in pain as he looks up at me. Without hesitation, I bite into my wrist and place it to his mouth. I know it won't help as much as human blood but it should tide him over until we can find some real food. He takes my wrist with his hands and bites into it as well, drinking. 

"There ya go." I whisper as he finishes 

"Thanks, Katerina. Smart move." He praises making a slow head nod towards his brother

"Honestly, I almost thought it wouldn't work. I guess he's so caught up in finding Hope that he put his guard down. Come on, we have to hurry and call Cami." 

I stand up and reach my hand out to him and he grabs it and I pull him up off the ground. He looks down at his clothes and dusts off whatever dirt he has on him. We both speed up to the house and run inside. 

"You go change your shirt and I'll call Cami." 

He nods and moves towards his room as I take out my phone, dialing Cami's number. It rings a couple of times on my end before I hear a distant ringing somewhere in the house. I walk around trying to find it and when I finally reach the living room, her phone is sitting on the table. I hang up my phone and slide it back into my pocket. I hear a noise behind me and turn around to see a knife flying towards me, landing in my stomach. I groan out in pain and watch as the man walks further into the house. 

"Finn." I say, venom in my voice 

"That's what I love about being a witch, I can do a protection spell and be right as rain. Now, I can't kill you because of what my mother did but I sure as hell can make your life hell." He threatens

"You're a funny guy, Finn. Did you know that?" I ask, cocking my head off to the side 

"What do you mean?" He asks, confused 

I let out a small laugh before I reach down into my stomach and pull the knife out and throw it at him, hitting him in the leg. He groans in pain as he moves his fingers, throwing me back against the wall behind me. 

"BROTHER!!" I hear Elijah yell as he comes down the hall 

I watch as Finn moves his fingers once again, throwing Elijah through a wall. I hear the sound of hissing gas as Finn disappears into the room Elijah is now in. I get up from the ground and quickly move towards them. I'm once again thrown back but this time I'm pinned to the wall, unable to move. I watch as Elijah looks at his hands, now covered in blood. 

"Elijah!" I shout 

He doesn't do anything but rub his hands together, the blood becoming sticky. Finn walks closer to him and that's when I'm dropped. I try to speed into the wall but I am stopped by a magical barrier. 

"Damn witches." I mutter 

"Look at you, Elijah." Finn starts "You're a mess. Burdened by the dirty misdeeds of your past, your mind muddled. Look at yourself, you can't even function with blood on your hands. How does it feel to be unclean, Elijah? How does it feel to know your mind is unclear?" He asks looking over to his brother as he walks in front of him 

I watch as Elijah looks up from his hands and up towards Finn. 

"That's the thing, Finn. My mind has never been more clear. You see, as you ranted like a maniac the gas from that pipe over there has filled every room with its contents." Elijah starts to get up on his feet 

Finn's face covers in confusion as he looks past Elijah and sees the broken main. I give Finn a knowing smile as Elijah looks back at me and winks. I nod my head in approval. 

"You wanna know why you're a funny guy, Finn?" I ask 

"Why?" 

"Protection spells are only good for one use. I hope you like barbeque." I joke 

Elijah takes his daylight ring off then extends his hand into the sun and the moment his arm catches fire...
