Reaching down, I grab Helen's arm to help her- while holding onto Mr. Dotson. Adrian gets up and dusts off the back of his pants. I can't help but feel angry with having just seen his hands on her ass and her not telling him to remove them. She wasn't too eager to get off of him either.

"Here." I say and hand her Dotson's arm.

"Thank you." She says shortly and then looks at Adrian. "Sorry again."

"I ain't complaining, Woman." She's about to say something, but instead turns and leads Dotson down the hallway. After a few seconds of him watching her walk away, he looks away and finds me glaring at him. "So Helen...is she..."

"Very much taken. Yes." I sternly say.

"Oh! I didn't see a wedding ring..."

"She's not married."

"So..."

"Seeing someone."

"But not exclusively."

I'm gonna beat this kid to a pulp. Honestly.

"Yes- exclusively."

"So how long we talking?"

Well...

I mean...

Technically...

We aren't anything at this moment. We haven't really discussed what we are. But I know Helen wouldn't be interested in his little boy anyway.

"So not that long. Based on your silence." He starts walking down the hallway and I frustratedly follow him.

"Don't you have a girlfriend? Nice looking young man like yourself- doctor, military: surely you have a girl."

"Nah...looking for the right one." He looks back down the hall to where Sharpe was and smirks widely. I step in front of him and catch his gaze.

"Taken."

"So you said." Adrian smirks and walks around me to go back towards the nurses station. I follow him closely and when we get to the lobby- he becomes aggravated. "Where is that mother and her baby?"

He looks back at the nurses- the new staff that have been struggling to figure out their place since Candelario left.

"Well, she didn't have insurance- so we discharged them." The one nurse states.

"And we didn't find anything wrong with her baby..." The other one adds.

"You don't discharge someone just because they don't have insurance! We treat everyone regardless! AND YOU don't discharge anyone because you are not doctors! Do you understand me?!" Adrian sternly informs them and takes off running. They look at me and I point to him.

"He's exactly right. Now, if you don't mind."

Taking off after him, we take the stairs and hustle down to the ground floor. As we burst through the door, we find a nurse pushing the mother and her baby through the atrium towards the doors.

"STOP RIGHT THERE!!!" Adrian yells and we hurry along. As we arrive, the baby is still vomiting blood and the mother is crying in pain and concern. Grabbing the chair, Adrian starts racing back through the hospital to the ED and I keep up the best I can.

I'm not old...

Just...don't run as much as I used too.

Bursting through the ED doors, he pulls her into Triage and Bloom is about to throw a fit.

"You can't just come bursting into my ED and..."

"Later Woman! I have a baby to save!" He yells and Lauren glares at me and I wave her off. Going in, he grabs the ultrasound machine and starts it up. He applies the jelly to the transducer and begins.
