Being a doctor prepares you for a lot of things.

How to draw blood.

How to suture someone.

How to insert a pen tube into the neck of someone who needs an emergency tracheotomy in a public space.

How to clean up blood, feces, piss, and vomit.

However, no matter how many years I practice medicine- it has never truly prepared me for dealing with a overly hysterical, hormonal, frustrated, depressed, pregnant woman who is freaking out over unproven facts- while trying to clean up the vomit she just spewed from her body- all over you, her and your child—and lobby floor.

She's making herself extremely sick and stressed and no matter how many times I tell her to calm down or that it's alright....huh...

She just gets even more sick.

She's to the point now that she is causing herself to become dehydrated and turn pale.

I had no choice but to call Lauren for help.

"Hey! Woah! What happened? What's going on?" She asks as she and Layla enter the Lobby and notice the vomit all over the floor, Luna's hair, down my chest, and down Helen's front. I managed to get Helen to sit on a metal bench with a trash can- which I fear she may have filled based on all her sickness.

"She's worked herself into a panic attack." I say as I clean up the floor. "Lauren, could I ask you to take Luna and Helen back upstairs to get cleaned up while I deal with this?"

She nods and I hand her my keys.

"What can I do to help?" Layla asks kindly.

"Can you grab me more paper towels out of the maintenance room, please?"

"Of course." She goes down the hall to the open door and after a few seconds comes back with a mop bucket. "I figured this may be better."

"Good thinking." We start cleaning it up and I feel horrible. If I had kept my mouth shut- this wouldn't have happened.

"So why was she panicking?"

"We found out last night that she's pregnant."

"Congratulations."

"It isn't mine. She's about three months pregnant she thinks, so it's your predecessor's baby. Anyway, I said some really stupid and hurtful things and she started psyching herself out that the baby is dead because she has never had a single symptom of pregnancy. And because she didn't know for months she was pregnant, she obviously probably did things that pregnant woman are advised not too."

"Oh...well how did you both find out she is pregnant?"

"We we're talking and she was upset thinking she was going through menopause because she hasn't me started in months. So I thought I was being funny when I offered her a pregnancy stick. She took it and well...there you have it." I say a bit frustrated.

"Well, you really didn't help yourself did you?" Turning I findLauren standing with her arms crossed and a very angry face about her.

"Lauren, I..."

"She is upstairs crying and vomiting herself into one of the biggest dehydrated panic attacks I've ever witnessed and all because you are upset because Cassian Shin accidentally got her pregnant?! I don't like the guy either, Max! But you know there are somethings you just don't say to a pregnant woman- who you know overthinks everything!" Lauren says angrily and comes over. "She refuses to go to the Dam for IV fluids and a sonogram! She's gonna end up sending her body into seizures or shock because she can't calm down and hydrate!"
