So maybe it wasn't the ideal way to start this...courtship?
Appendicitis is a huge mood killer, but seeing most of her sexy body was worth it at least.
I felt like a fool going back to her apartment last night. I felt odd banging on her door and it only spiraled me into breaking a picture on her wall and ramming her into a doorframe due to an excess of nerves.
But holding her in her room.
Kissing her...
I think I made it partway too Heaven.
The ambulance ride was a bit...nerve wracking for me. Ambulances are not my favorite mode of transportation any more, but regardless.
Helen passed out quickly and became sick when her appendix burst just as we pulled into the ED. She unconsciously tossed everything inside her and Reynolds and Bloom worked as fast as they could in triage to get her opened up and start removing the burst organ and other deadly fluid that flooded her abdomen.
We very nearly lost her.
If we had been just two minutes earlier- we could have removed the organ without problems.
Two minutes later and she'd be septic and dead upon arrival.
And I'd be back in that painful spot of losing a woman I...
Anyway- Gwen and Richard dropped Luna off to me graciously. Despite them still being angry at me and thinking I'm a shitty father- they complied and left well enough alone.
Luna was confused and upset to see Helen 'asleep' in the hospital bed. She loves her a lot.
Always.
Helen made her laugh for the first time ever in her office.
I was both jealous and...and in love that she could make my little girl so happy.
Even though Luna has missed out on knowing and loving Georgia- I'm at least a little relieved that she has someone who is caring and sweet enough to give her the extra love she doesn't know she needs or deserves.
"Hey..." I look up from my slouched position in the arm chair and find Luna standing at the side of Helen's hospital bed, waving at her and speaking softly. "Hey..."
"Lu...she's sleeping- Baby." I quietly say.
Helen has been out a good six hours- including the surgery and clean up itself, but she should have been up an hour ago.
"Mine?" She quietly says as she points to Helen's hand that is just near the edge of the bed.
"What do you mean? Mine?" Her vocubulary has been growing quickly over the last few months. The closer we get to two- the more words she picks up. So amazing.
So...completely inappropriate.
For example:
"Luna, what did you do with Daddy today?" Helen asks as she steps into my office. She has been running around like a chicken with it's head cut off- trying to figure out where her senile patient ran off too.
She finally found him up in the Maternity ward, trying to deliver babies.
It was a hilarious nightmare.
"As—hole..."
"I beg your pardon?" Helen looks at me angrily.
"I...I don't know where she..."
"Haha!! As—hole..." She giggles again.
"Really, Luna- that is not appropriate." Helen nicely informs her.
