Is it just me?

Or is this actually sort of working?

I mean, surely we have had a lot of bumps today- but they seem to be resolving themselves quicker than they normally would.

Normally he or I would pout or give the cold shoulder for a day or two: Arguing or blatantly disregarding the other person's opinion despite probably agreeing with it.

But for some reason, since him nearly dying- we seem to have...developed a thoughtless process of mending ourselves and fixing the issues that have arose.

Now that certainly doesn't mean that I'm not still upset from the aquarium.

I most certainly am.

But Max being open and honest with me about his sister- makes it seem less important of a thing to be upset about.

Yes, I will never be Luna's Mum.

Couldn't pose as one if I wanted too.

But Max seems to be slowly allowing me that time with her that for so long, I never was allowed to have.

After all, it wasn't until this year when she turned one that he actually allowed me to babysit her for a few moments while he had to track down someone of importance. Before that, only Max ever held her and gave her kisses and took her places.

Although...

Based on today at the aquarium- he apparently allowed Alice to do whatever she wanted with Luna.

She probably got to snuggle her and her own daughter and take Luna to the park by herself.

Max would never allow me to take Luna out in public alone.

Not that I would feel comfortable with that anyhow.

But still.

"One Banzai burger for you, my Darling Dear, as well as extra big cheese sticks with Alfredo." He hands me the food- having found his calm finally. I can't help but smile at the food he's ordered for me.

It is my favorite thing from Bulldog's anyhow.

I'm honestly surprised he remembered. Though I bet his missed something.

"Thank you. Mmm, it smells amazing." We set up places to eat on the living room coffee table and Luna comes running at the sound of her styrofoam takeout container opening.

"Hey!!" She happily yells and happily bounces next to Max, who is cutting up her tenders and putting a small amount of ketchup on a plate for her.

"What do we say Lu? Come on? You know it." He says happily and she looks between me and him and then at the food.

Instead of saying the word Thanks or any variant- she takes her hand, palming facing her face and drops it down and back towards Max slightly.

"Good Job, Moon." Max kisses her head and continues making manageable pieces for the child.

"You taught her sign?"

"Well...a few of the harder words. Thank you. Please. Help."

"That's cute and smart actually. A lot of parents should do that." I state and watch as Luna munches on a piece of tender.

"Well...ya never know what they'll need to know as they grow. Sometimes I wonder if she really can hear everything. Sometimes she just gets this vacant stare when you talk to her and you can tell she hears you- but I don't know how much. Jessup seems to think she's fine, but...ya know...better safe than sorry." I had noticed that too.
