London Heathrow went through some changes since the last time Bella Ledford had stepped foot inside of it. It felt as though everything had been turned upside down and she barely found the toilets or her way back to the tarmac. She desperately needed the toilet, even though she went on the private jet that her brother had sent for her and Jackson. Fighting until the security gave in, they escorted her inside and to the nearest toilets, then headed back to the car that awaited her, bags and best friend sitting comfortably.

Ethan hadn't come to meet them when they touched down, reasoning his absence with important, last minute work calls to tend to. Bella knew better than to fight it and want him there, or even ask about his responsibilities' nature.

The entire journey went over her head. As soon as she sat in the back of the Audi on the tarmac, her brain shut off completely. It refused to acknowledge where she was. Partially it had to do with the fact that they travelled ahead in time, and touched down in the capital of England eight hours earlier than what time it was back in Seattle. The rest of it was entirely family related. Even though it was impossible, Bella felt like her parents would pop up at the next red light, or on the corner before the turn.

Bella barely realised that they have arrived at their final destination. Her brother's house. The driver opened the car door for Bella, letting the natural light hit her in the face immediately. Being in the vehicle, sitting behind darkened windows, she was blinded by the brightness. The cold air fanned against her face as she put her right foot on the pavement, then the left, and pushed herself out of her seat. Leaves crunched beneath her feet that the wind blew across the ground, her hair following the wave coming from the left and heading to the right.

Before her stood a white house, kept safe behind a black metal fence that sat on and in between white columns. Ethan had already texted her sister the gate code—3E43L6—which she insisted on putting in herself so she ventured over to the side and popped the combination in. It buzzed through, opening the main gates along with it so that the driver could park in with the car and make it easier to haul their things inside.

The house itself was white, with grey roofing, and a bunch of large windows poked at her eyes right away. The trees on either side of her were bare, given the time of year, but the little rounded off bushes along the front of the house remained ever so green, as did the tall, thin pine trees. Maybe they weren't pine trees. Bella didn't know.

Large black double doors kept her out of the house since she had no keys to get in. The sound of the car beside them was loud enough to block out her knock against the painted wood, and once its engine turned off and the driver opened its door, the one before Bella opened, too.

That saved having to wait for the driver to use his key.

She didn't know what or who the hell she expected to be on its other side but it most definitely wasn't a pregnant woman. The lounge wear and messy bun indicated she was no cleaner of the house but rather someone who came here to put her feet up and watch some TV. The loose ash blonde strands curled against her round cheeks before she lifted a manicured hand, fingers adorned by silver rings, and brushed them behind her ear. It revealed a small silver hoop nestled in her lobe, the same size that curled around her left nostril which had to be the right side for her.
