Edit from the author:
Hey guys, thanks to all the people that enjoyed this book. I just will say, I started this around August of 2021 with really no plan and just kinda winged it, then added conflict, and took a minute to write the last chapter by adding more happy chapters because I didn't want to end it lol.
Anyway, I'm just letting you guys know this was my first fanfic ever and quite frankly, my first time writing something that wasn't for an academic grade. So in short, I don't think it's my best work, I like a few five or so chapters that don't even really have a lot do to with the funky, unshaped, wiggly plot, but I would say the better writing and plotting skills are in my other stories.
I have another cquackbur story, it's zombie apocalypse au called "For Our Own Sake", it is only somewhat mature just so you know. I also have a oneshot collection full of Wilbur and Quackity simply called "Quackbur oneshots" or "tntduo oneshots' and honenstly that's where I mostly update stuff because I mainly write oneshots and drabbles, so the better writing is over there and there is more content that varies so I'm sure you'll like something there. ThenI have a story focused on Tubbo, Ranboo, and Techno called " How To Take Down An Empire With Voices In Your Head" that had angst- and beware- major and minir character death.
If you want to read this story, go ahead though, just know I had no clue what I was doing LOL and somehow atill managed to get so many nice words from you guys (which I'm very thankful for) Anyway, I hope you enjoy this book either way :D

Wilbur sat at the foot of his bed, elbows pressed into knees, face sunk into hands.
It was nearly four am and he still hadn't gotten a moment's rest, the mind too busy racing with all the things he needed to get done, all the plans that needed to be rethought or completely thrown away, all the people and what he thought they would think of him once they see him.
When Ranboo first saw Wilbur, he didn't seem too pleased with the idea of him being back, he seemed uneased at his presence when he, Tommy, and Tubbo stood in front of Wilbur at his grave, his shrine- whatever you call it.
Now he has a business (in the making) with Ranboo, and Wilbur admits, he would've thought that Ranboo would've denied working with him at first, maybe not wanting to associate himself with Wilbur. Ranboo proved him wrong.
According to Ranboo, a person's past will always affect the way they turn out in the end. It makes sense, yes, but Wilbur just had never had someone trust him like that-so willing to part of something with him- not even a single lie or line of manipulation had come out of Wilbur's mouth when he asked Ranboo to join him.
Wilbur knew Ranboo didn't trust him completely though, and he was fine with that- he wouldn't expect it anyway.
Ranboo just trusted him enough to run a burger van with him, even with the knowledge that something too familiar to the van had been the home root, the start of a long line of events that ended with nothing but pain, regret, and holes that could never be filled.
So, to say Wilbur saw Ranboo's view of him as more of a positive one.
Now nearing five am Wilbur decided it was time to stand up from his bed and start his morning routine. When he stood, he nearly fell right back down his body tired from the ongoing habit of not sleeping well, or at all. He regained his balance walking over to his bathroom. Slipping into the hot shower for about five minutes till he stood at his closet throwing on a tight, black, turtleneck-sleeved shirt. Paring it with white tight trousers and a brown belt, the golden buckle shining every time the sunlight from the window met it.
Once dressed, he walked back into his bathroom brushing his teeth, then untangling his hair as he walked out of his room. He put on his normal black boots and trench coat before walking out the door facing the burger van.
He walked alongside the van out of view from where customers would soon sit. Turning to his left he pulled out a chain of keys shuffling them between his fingers till it was the key to the van in his hand.
Unlocking the van, a wave of scents filled his nose; freshly made bread, concrete, and steak being cooked.
He looked over at Ranboo who flipped a patty before looking towards Wilbur.
"You're here early."
"Yes, I am. You said the burgers needed to be better, to be improved. That's what I'm doing." Ranboo flipped another patty, there were four in total, laying there waiting to be eaten.
"I mean yeah, I suppose I did, but I didn't say to miss sleep for the job Ranboo."
Wilbur tossed his coat on one of the three hooks that hung next to the door and walked over to where Ranboo was.
"It smells good Ranboo, which has to be a good sign no?" He shrugged, turning his heel to Ranboo.
"I- yeah I'm pretty sure it is," Ranboo mumbled in deep concentration.
They talked casually for a couple of minutes while Ranboo fixed up four 'Wilburger Vol 1's', talking about what he changed in the food to improve it.
Once they were finished Wilbur took the two plates, each with two burgers parallel to each other.
"Let's see what these 'changes' did yeah?" Wilbur said, pressing his shoulder up against the button on the wall opening the door.
Ranboo nodded and held the door open for the other; both heading down to the seating area he, himself had built.
Wilbur placed the plates at the spots across from each other before sitting down.
Ranboo eying the results of his hard work that sat on the plates, sat down as well. He looked at it with at first proud eyes, then with eyes that would normally accompany a shrug.
"So, let me know what ya think, I think it should be at least a slight bit better right? A better burger is what I'm hoping for ya know." Ranboo explained, grabbing his own to take a bite.
Wilbur swallowed, then cleared his throat, "This is better. You did in fact improve them." Wilbur complimented, slouching down into his seat.
"Thanks Wilbur. I like to believe that this burger is good enough for sale." Ranboo said with a smile. Wilbur smiled back "I mean who knows, it could be." He laughed, shrugging his shoulders.
Wilbur then shot up sitting properly in his chair, putting his elbows on the table hands under his chin.
"But."
Ranboo hummed in response due to a mouth full of food.
"But it depends on exactly how good our competitor's burgers are." His voice dropping to a much more serious tone, "Don't you think Ranboo?" he asked.
"I- yeah I suppose it does," Ranboo spoke hesitantly, not wanting to cause any actual trouble with their competition- their healthy competition.
"Right. If their burgers are better than ours, then people will only eat there, and we wouldn't want that." Wilbur said, the once serious tone, fading away.
"Ha yeah no that would suck," Ranboo said, standing up collecting the dishes to bring them inside, to be washed. Wilbur stood up and followed the taller man.
"So, maybe one of us should go test out our competitors' burgers?" Wilbur suggested, a smile tugging at the ends of his lips.
"I mean yeah you can I guess I'll just stay here," Ranboo said shrugging, then turning away to start washing the dishes.
