Don't Know How to Feel.

22. A New Employee

Wilbur stood in the burger van, taking orders from the little amount of customers. Work was slow-paced today, seeing as both Ranboo and Tommy were going camping. Unlike Quackity he didn't have anybody else that could fill in for the campers, so for the days they were gone he would be working it all by himself. So for the first time, he was thankful for the lack of customers.

He grabbed the two plates, walking out of the burger van while he balanced them easily. He made his over to the table where Eret and Sam sat. They both looked up at him as he walked over, placing the plates in front of them.

"Is that all?" he asked. With a nod from both of them, he turned his heel, preparing the next order of burgers for the other customers. He does admit, that making burgers was probably the most boring part of the job for him. It's a good thing Ranboo will be back soon.

 When he brings the plates over, he doesn't recognize two of the people sitting at the table, he only knows Foolish. As he sets the burgers down on the table, one of them thanked him, "Thanks for the food. I bet it's going to taste great." Wilbur gives a short nod, "Thanks."  He glanced at the dark-haired girl, then out of curiosity, he opened his mouth again, "I don't think I know you."

"Oh I'm Tina," she holds out a hand that Wilbur shakes hesitantly, "Eryn and I are pretty new here. Foolish offered to take us out for food so he could get to know us better."

Wilbur glanced over to the supposed Eryn, who remained silent for a moment before looking back at him, "They're already best friends." Tina and Foolish both let out a soft laugh. Wilbur stood straighter, "Well I hope you enjoy your burgers." 

"Hey there's no one else to cook for," Foolish stops him from walking away, "You could just sit with us?" Wilbur drops his hands to his side, "Oh well I actually-"

"Come on you seem cool," Tina insists. Wilbur almost dislike's Tina's smile, it seemed too perfect. He glanced over the three of them, feeling a bit odd at their invitation. Eryn nods, "You should."

Keyword 'almost' he almost hates Tina's smile, but he doesn't. Wilbur glances over at her again, she's still smiling and Wilbur would almost feel bad for not joining them. So he flattens out his apron awkwardly, "Sure, I just have to handle some stuff first."

"Great," Foolish says and Wilbur wonders if he's putting this on for his new friends. Foolish seemed like a nice guy yes, but surely he knows what Wilbur had done in the past, and surely he didn't like him for it. Still, Wilbur couldn't find a single slip in anything he said or any facial expression, so Wilbur found himself taking a seat after some time in the burger van.

"Foolish says your name is Wilbur correct?" Tina asks before taking a sip of her lemonade. Wilbur simply nods, "Yes."  He's thankful that Eryn seems too busy with his food to ask questions. Of course, Foolish isn't, he looks to Wilbur who could feel the curiosity in his eyes.

"You don't have anyone else that can work here huh?" Foolish points to the van behind Wilbur's head. Wilbur finds himself nodding again, "The only other workers are out camping."

Foolish seems to think for a moment then shrugs, "Maybe I could work here." Wilbur tries to hide the frustration on his face, "You're a part of Las Nevadas Foolish."

"I don't think that's what we were talking about-" Wilbur cuts him off, "The Ranvan is competing against Tubburger, which is a part of Las Nevadas. I wouldn't trust you working here. Sorry but that's just how it is."

Foolish hums in agreement, he was disappointed, but he understood. Then he turned to Tina with wide eyes, "Wait, Tina could work here right?" Tina, who had been eating her burger glanced between the two. Wilbur turned his face in confusion, "Foolish I think that's up to her."
