It was growing dimmer, the sun slowly lowering behind the tall buildings of Las Nevadas. If Quackity glanced up, he could see the colours of pink and orange stretching across the sky blue that was slowly starting to look a bit more purple like it did at night. Still, there was plenty of time left in the day, it just got darker around this time of the month. Plenty of time to go see Wilbur.

Quackity walked past the sign of Las Nevadas, paying no attention to how uncomfy the wet sand was under his shoes. Sure the strong rain was over and had been for a long time, it was the fact that the sand sucked that water in and held it for quite a while after. One of the few bad things about Las Nevadas being located in a desert.

He looked up from his shoes that he had been so focused on when he heard shuffling, followed by a low mumbling. Immediately, he straightened his posture.

"Oh, hey Wilbur," Quackity greeted him awkwardly, hating how he couldn't manage to make his voice louder. Wilbur took notice of Quackity, stopping to face him and shifting his weight in uncertainty. That was when Quackity realsed that Wilbur was just walking away from the main area of Las Nevadas, he didn't question why because Wilbur gave him the answer right away.

"Quackity." His voice is a mix of relief and a newfound sense of nervousness that Wilbur hoped Quackity didn't quite catch onto as he looked at him. "I was just at the hotel, I've actually been meaning to talk with you."

Quackity cleared his throat, nodding with a low breath. "Oh- that's great then. Because I needed to talk with you as well."

And then silence followed, Quackity hated it but didn't do anything to stop it. Wilbur stood there in front of him for the few seconds of silence that lasted, looking around before he hesitantly placed a hand on Quackity's shoulders.

"Not here though, obviously."

Quackity tried to let out a laugh, reminding himself that they were indeed just standing in the middle of his country for all open eyes to see. "Right."

Wilbur's hand left Quackity's shoulder, returning to Wilbur's side as he tilted his head. "Could we talk at my place maybe?" he suggested, and this time Wilbur knew the nervousness in his voice didn't go unnoticed. He shouldn't be nervous, he went out in hopes of having this conversation. Or maybe being around Quackity still had that kind of effect despite Wilbur finding this a bit more serious of a matter.

Quackity was quick to reply, already starting to walk forward and Wilbur followed. "Sure- yes."

The walk was silent. Quackity glanced around at the empty tables around the burger van and remembered all of the times when only he and Wilbur would share a bench, almost being able to recall each time.

"Here you are." Wilbur's voice tore through his thoughts, making him turn to see Wilbur holding the front door wide open. Quackity didn't know if he should have or not, but he gave a small smile at the gesture with a "thank you" before walking in. And with the way Wilbur simply walked in after him, closing the door quietly made Quackity realise a small little smile didn't matter all that much.

Quackity decided on taking a seat on the couch, taking notice of the fact that nobody else was home. Then Quackity remembered Wilbur wouldn't have suggested coming here if anybody was here. Wilbur was a big fan of privacy.

"You gonna stand there or come over?" Quackity asked lightly, gaze pointed at Wilbur who was still standing at the door. Wilbur shoved his keys into a pocket with a nod, holding up a hand as he turned around.

"Yea just give me a second."

Quackity opened his mouth to respond, only finding an "ok" voicing itself. He internally sighed with disappointment, if he was going to talk to Wilbur he needed to be able to actually talk, not feel so incredibly strained on his words. So he remained silent to regain himself as Wilbur headed into the kitchen, tapping his fingers on the counter quite rapidly before he filled up two cups of water.
