Tommy stood in the burger van, washing dishes. When Tina came but for the third time Tommy glanced out of the van, 'How has he not come back once?'
But when Tommy peeked out of the van he didn't even see Wilbur. He slowly turned to Tina, "Uh, Tina you wouldn't happen to have seen Wilbur run off? He just left. Apron and everything."
Tina looked out the window with a careful gaze, "No. I was just talking to him by the tree. Sorry, Tommy."
"Oh it's nothing," Tommy shrugged as Tina walked away. Ranboo tapped on his head, making him whip around.
"Aren't you supposed to tap people on the shoulder, not their head?"
"Depends on the person," Ranboo stated, "Also I just saw Wilbur walk out of the HQ."
"Because he just gets to take a break for as long as he wants," Tommy whined as he turned back to the dishes. Wilbur would walk through the door any second now, and Tommy was going to tell him off about leaving work for as long as he did.
Sure enough, the door opened to reveal Wilbur, Tommy cleared his throat but held back his words as Wilbur slammed the door.
"Woah, don't break the door," Ranboo teased, still facing the stove. Tommy watched as Wilbur just stared holes into the back of Ranboo's head. Tommy felt the confusion sink into him as Wilbur turned to Tommy. Wilbur looked pissed.
"Mind moving aside? I'm taking orders now."
"You didn't do shit during the rotation," Tommy argued, "So I'll be staying here a bit longer."
Wilbur pinched his brows at Tommy and it almost made Tommy want to run out the door just to escape his glare. But Tommy held his ground, and Wilbur crossed his arms in return.
"I was out there long enough," Wilbur said as he stepped closer. Tommy knew it was a silly thing to fight over, but he really didn't like Wilbur's attitude, or his tone, or just anything about him at this moment. 'He left work to go on a break but he comes back acting like a jerk?' Yeah, Tommy wasn't having it. 'Breaks are relaxing, he should be nicer if anything.'
"Sure you were out there, but you didn't do any work. You ran off to enjoy a damn break- one that's longer than the allowed amount of time. You set the limit yourself, Wilbur."
Ranboo glanced over, he didn't need to listen to arguing while he was making a burger or two. He leaned an elbow on the counter and cleared his throat, "We've got work to do. Don't waste around bickering with each other alright?"
Wilbur shot Ranboo a cold look before turning to Tommy, both continuing the argument with the glares they shot each other. So Ranboo tapped on the counter loudly, "Ah I just love having coworkers who do the work instead of having a staring contest with each other."
Wilbur let his shoulders drop and he stepped back, "Fine, you stubborn idiot."
Tommy was about to argue back against the comment but the look Ranboo gave him made him let out a sigh and turn back to the dishes. When he saw Wilbur finally walking around with plates in his hands he nodded to himself, 'Yeah bitchboy, you ain't having your way acting like that.'
After that work continued, Tina and Tommy ended up switching instead of Wilbur. It seemed fair since she was the one who had been walking around and not him, even when he was supposed to. Wilbur didn't say anything about it, but Tommy could tell he wanted to. Tommy would notice every time Wilbur would bite his cheek or let out a huff because he knew arguing would lead to nowhere. Still, Tommy couldn't help but feel curious at what in the time that he was gone on a nice break would have made him come back acting like a bitch.
