I noticed Ron was not very happy about Harry being selected. He was continuously bugging Hermione and me to go to Harry. He wanted us to tell him what he wanted to say. But since he was mad at him and did not want to talk. He wanted one of us to go. We walked to the lakeside where Harry was sitting under a tree. Neville was knee deep in the water doing something.
"We have already been through enough people. Why do you not just go and do it yourself? Ughh. What do you want me to say again?" Hermione whispered in exasperation.
Ginny and I stood behind them. Harry gave me a 'what is going on?' look. I returned him an apologetic look.
Ron whispered some words to Hermione. It was clear Ron and Harry were not on speaking terms. Hermione walked up to Harry. Then she started speaking.
"Ronald would like me to tell you that Seamus told him that Dean was told by Parvati that Hagrid was looking for you."
"Is that right? Well... what?" Harry was perplexed.
"Uhhh..." She walked back to Ron for more whispering. Then she came back.
"Dean was told by Parvati that... please do not ask me to say it again. Hagrid is looking for you."
"Well. You can tell Ronald—" Harry started. But he was cut off by her.
"I am not an owl!" Hermione burst out in anger. She made us all flinch.
Later, I was sitting under a tree reading a book in the courtyard. I heard Draco calling out to Harry.
"Why so tense. Potter? My father and I have a bet. You see. I do not think you are going to last ten minutes in this tournament. He disagrees. He thinks you will not last five." He was sitting on a tree branch.
Then he jumped down laughing. Harry was lunging forward at him. But I quickly got up. I stopped him.
"Oh. Look. It is the blood traitor again. The saviour of Saint Potter." He commented upon seeing me.
"Malfoy. Fuck off!" I fired back. The goons behind him made "oooouuu" sounds. Then Harry spoke up.
"I do not give a damn what you or your father thinks. Malfoy. He is vile and cruel. And you are just pathetic." He spat.
Then he started walking away. Draco angrily tried casting a spell at his back. Before I could block it. Mad Eye appeared. He quickly turned Malfoy into a white ferret.
"I will teach you to cast when someone's back is turned." He said.
Then he started to move him up and down in the air. I could not contain my laughter and amazement. I started laughing. My eyes widened slightly at the sight.
Professor McGonagall suddenly appeared. "Professor Moody. What are you doing?"
"Teaching."
"Is that a student?"
"Technically. It is a ferret."
Mad Eye was still making him hover around. He sent it right up the trouser leg of Goyle's pants. He squirmed. He looked incredibly uncomfortable. Everyone else was laughing. Mad Eye winked at Harry. Then Harry laughed. Eventually. The ferret came back out. McGonagall quickly turned Draco back to normal. He got up. He turned to Mad Eye. He was absolutely frightened.
"My father will hear about this!" He threatened.
"Is that a threat!" Mad Eye shouted at him. Draco ran away like a maniac.
"I could tell you stories about your father that would curl even your greasy hair. Boy! It does not end here!" He shouted one last time after him.
"We never use transfiguration as a punishment. Surely Dumbledore told you that." McGonagall told him sternly.
