My dress arrived as I put it on. I looked in he mirror admiring my dress. It hugged my body perfectly shaping my hips. My hair was done perfectly. I took a deep breath. Then got out of my dorm passing everyone in the common room. I felt eyes on me which made me more nervous.
"Nice wig! what's it made of?" Daphne Greengrass yelled from a side of the room.
"Your mom's chest hair!" I savagely replied making the whole common room erupt in laughter.
Daphne scowled as everyone laughed at her. I saw Crabbe and Goyle hitting each other in the middle of their laughs. I snorted at the scene.
"Hey, Knight! Who's your date?" Pansy asked, coming over to me. She was wearing a disturbingly vibrant pink gown which would probably make my eyes hurt if I stare for too long.
"You'll see." I said and quickly left.
Pansy and I were pen friends. She never really cared who I made friends with. But at the corner of my eyes I did saw Draco eyeing me up and down. His mouth parted a bit. I ignored it and went to find Hermione. She was waiting for me.
"There you are. You look gorgeous." She let out a sigh of relief and complimented me.
"As do you. Now, lets go!" We giggled then went to the way to the hall.
We could hear soft music playing and everyone was well dressed, gathered in the hall. We peaked from behind a wall and saw harry with one of the patil twins. Fred and George were no where to be seen. Maybe they were already inside the hall.
"Show time." We both walked down the stairs. Parvati looked at us when whispered something. Then Harry looked at us with widened eyes. I saw Cedric walking towards me with a smile. I smiled back at him. He came up and took my hand and kissed the back of it.
Hermione's date was Viktor Krum. Our date stood either side of us then took our hand and leading inside the hall.
The champions entered one by one. Everyone else was standing either side clapping for the champions. Harry was behind us and Hermione was in front. I waved back at Cho who was waving at me. I saw Ron and George standing together. Both scowling their faces off. Fred stood beside comforting him and waved at me. I waved back. I noticed George's date was Alicia. One of the Gryffindors. I felt like someone stabbed me in the chest right where my heart was. I ignored the raging flame of jealousy and held my head high, swinging my hips as I walked.
The champions were the first to take the dance floors. Cedric took my hand then walked me to the dance floor. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I wrapped mine around his shoulder.
"Don't let me fall, Diggory." I jokingly warned as he laughed.
"Not in my nature, Knight." He smirked and we danced. We had a pleasant dance. He was a natural where I was scared of tripping and embarrassing myself in front of everyone.
Soon the others started joining in. Dumbledore and McGonagall, Filch was dancing with his cat. I saw George aggressively danced with Alicia but his eyes were fixated on me the whole night. I felt his burning gaze on my back everyime I turned away from him to face Cedric.
"Looks like George Weasley isn't happy." Cedric took me by surprise. I looked at him then shook my head.
"He would've asked me if he wanted to go with me but he didn't." I said at which he chuckled.
Rock music was played by the Weird Sisters fronted by Jarvis Cocker from Pulp. The crowd is jumping. We all danced like crazy but certain some people were missing.
Harry, Ron and George were slumped down some distance away looking miserable. I came up with Hermione after a great time with Viktor and Cedric.
"Hot, isn't it? Viktor's gone to get drinks. Care to join us?" Hermione asked as I joined them after excusing Cedric.
"No, we'd not care to join you and Viktor." Ron scoffed at Hermione.
"What's got your wand in a knot?" Hermione asked after giving me a confusing look.
"He's a Durmstrang. You're fraternising with the enemy." Ron spat then started walking out with Hermione following him.
"Are you going to ask me to dance or not?" Alicia asked George who's eyes were shooting daggers at me.
"No." His voice was cold and empty.
Alicia stormed off.
"What was that?" I asked.
"Why do you care? Go dance with your date." He venomously said.
"What's with the sudden change of attitude?" I shot back as he got up facing me.
"Nothing. Your date must be waiting." He got up and started walking out like Ron.
"George for the love of God be specific!" My body was now filled up with vexation as I followed him.
"He's using you." He said. We were now outside the hall.
"How dare you! Besides, I'm not an idiot. I know when people does or not!"
"Doubt it. He's even older than me."
"What? Is that what you think?!" I shouted.
I couldn't believe why he was acting this way. It was very childish of him.
"Yeah, that is what I think."
"You know the solution then, don't you?" I spat. My throat was tightening, eyes were at the verge of tears.
"Go on." He said, emotionless.
"Next time there's a ball pluck up the courage and ask me before somebody else does, and not as a last resort. Now I get why you're being such an arse to me."
A tear slipped from my eyes. He noticed it. I saw his eyes softened but didn't show it and tried to stay cold.
"Well, that's completely off the point." Harry walked up then.
He looked at mine and Hermione's director. I stormed over to him as Hermione joined me too.
"Where have you been?" Harry was startled with my outburst.
"Nevermind! Off to bed both of you." Hermione shouted then started crying.
Harry and Ron quickly walked away. I turned to George who was staring at us and had company. It was none other than Fred.
"And you!" I pointed my finger at Fred. He looked at me, frightened. "Take your brother out of my sight before I kick both of your arses."
I threatened as Fred pushed George and they both ran towards the stairs for dear life.
"They get scary when they get older." I heard George say while running before disappearing.
"Shut up!" I yelled and sat on the stairs crying as Hermione sniffed joining next to me.
"What happened between you and Ron?" I asked her, sniffing in between.
"Same as yours."
