8. Hello Raven can you say Nevermore?

The screams from the girls only got louder, with a single flick on my ring it turned into the bow, quickly, I shot an arrow at the hound biting the poor girl's arm, making it let go of it. She kept running even after she reached the gate, I had to hold her in my arms, the hounds growled and barked at us, I glared at them and yelled "Stay away from this her got it!?". the hounds nodded and walked away, the girl was still shaking on my arms hiding her face on my chest, I could only hear her sob and cry "shh it's okay they're gone now" I said in a soft voice, when she looked up I was shocked, her skin was as white as the snow, her hair was long and dark as the night, and her eyes were a piercing deep blue eyes covered in tears, which I wiped off "that's better do you have a name?" he lips quivered  trying to answer, but before she could say anything a girl from camp ran up. Her skin was a light ebony texture, her hair was jet black and pulled into a single braid, she wore the usual camp uniform, an orange camp half-blood T-shirt and some shorts along with Adidas tennis, they were white and purple.

"I... heard... screaming...what... happened?" she said panting "uh... she was attacked by some hellhounds, and also she was bitten" I said looking at the girl's arm, who was still holding on to me. "oh my gods, here let me see your arm sweetie" she said, but when I tried to move her she would cling more to me "hey it's alright I'm Prerana and he's... uh... the new guy" the girl said while looking at me,  I groaned and said my name, Prerana nodded and looked at the girl who was lifting her head a bit "I-I... my name's Raven" she paused for a moment, but then said "Raven Snow".

"Well sweetie. I can heal your bite okay? don't want it to get infected right?" Prerana said smiling, Raven nodded and slowly reach her arm, where the bite was, Prerana held onto Raven's arm and started to sing, Raven and I exchanged looks of confusion, but as Prerana kept singing, Raven's wounds started to heal without pain. "There you go, like nothing happened, now do you know who your godly parent is?" Prerana asked addressing Raven "I uh... godly parent?" she tilted her head as a symbol in the form of a wine cup appeared over her head. Prerana smiled "ah... a daughter of Hebe, goddess of youth".

"M-my mom is a... goddess!? w-where was she when I..." then she fell silent, I could only hug her tightly "it's okay you'll be safe here" with that she looked up at me and backed away blushing "um... sorry about that ... I was just shocked, don't flatter yourself" I shrugged and asked if she had any weapons, she shook her head saying how she was in the streets and never really used any, she had, however , some experience on how to throw stuff from the times she was bored, but she wanted a weapon after those hounds chased her. Prerana and I took her to the weapons shed, she picked up some throwing knifes and a dagger which she placed in her boot, "hey how good are you using those?" Prerana asked looking at Raven, with a smirk, Raven answered by throwing the knife into a tree dead center, this made me laugh softly.

"what's so funny!?" Raven asked angrily "well you hit the tree, but you haven't showed how good you were" she smirked and held the knifes in between her fingers "then go to that wall over there and if I don't hit you I've proved my point, if not ... oops".

I don't know what came over me, but I did as I was told and stood by the wall "give me your best shot Rave-" I was cut off by a knife barely missing the side of my head, before I could react many knifes were thrown my way, they all barely missing me, but my clothes were filled with holes from the knifes, the girls were laughing and giving high fives to each other while I took the knifes out, freeing myself "sorry about your clothes Brian!" Raven yelled as she walked closer with a needle and some string "here I'll make it up, life on the streets teaches you a few things" she commented "um.. Yeah go ahead" she smiled and started to sew the holes, when she was done Prerana was giggling while looking at us "what?" Raven and I said in unison "it's common, in camp, that if a girl likes a boy she uses him as a dummy and well" she was giggling even more and Raven's face was a bright red color "s-shut up!" Raven finally said and ran off to some cabins.

Prerana and I stayed there and talked for a while about the gods and their relation to us and the humans. Apparently, Olympus is right above the Empire State Building and some gods have secret jobs in different places. After a while a boy with blond hair and dark brown eyes came out of the woods with gold dust over him, the dust meant he had just killed a monster, as he walked over he gave a grin "hi, I'm Josh, son of Zeus" he exclaimed proudly, Prerana and I introduced ourselves, but this Josh was somewhere else, in his head anyway, he would just stare off into the distance spaced out.

Few moments later Raven walked back, blushing lightly when turning to see me, she asked for a match to get better at using her dagger, I accepted, but I knew that if she was dangerous with knifes she would be deadly with a dagger. When they weren't looking, I sneaked away and made an illusion of myself as I sat up in a tree watching the fight, my illusion used a similar dagger to Raven's. The blades clashed swiftly, but none of the slashes hit their opponent, whenever the blade was going to make contact they would backflip or roll over. Both Prerana and Josh were cheering for Raven, that helped her get pump up and moved in a way where her dagger was at my illusion's throat, Prerana and Josh cheered louder, I couldn't help myself but to clap my hands as my illusion faded away.

"WHAT THE CRAP!!?" Raven screamed, making me laugh. "that was my illusion, it's a safe way to study you" Raven snarled and threw a knife at me, with a smirk, I caught it between my fingers "won't work... where did sh-", again, I cut off mid sentence, but by a dagger at my throat and a smirking Raven "I won end of the story" she whispered in my ear "fine you win but can we-" yet again, I was cut off by her throwing me off the tree, falling face first on the ground, she jumped down next to me laughing softly "need a hand there?" she said with her hand extended towards me, I took her hand, but when she pulled me up we were inches away from each other's faces making us both blush "you..uh have beautiful eyes" I said  softly, in response her blush darkened, she smiled and moved some of her hair behind her ear "thanks... you have nice... body... er ...arms... face" by now if she could get any redder she would be a tomato, but it was obvious she was flustered so I let it slip.

Both Prerana and Josh were standing there grinning like lunatics, Raven backed away trying to calm her blush, I did the same "yeah uh... you guys wanna-" in that moment a circle of flames surrounded me and started to shine brighter, making everyone look away, the fire got shot skyward. I covered myself trying to not get my face burnt, but the fire didn't burn me; in fact it was cold, when the flames calmed down I noticed that I wasn't at the camp anymore, I was more in like a palace made of a Dark material, as I scanned my surroundings, I noticed two equally high thrones, one had golden touches while the other had vines and roots made of silver around it. Something made me walk toward them and kneel "good day, lord Hades and lady Persephone" I said without thinking "no need to kneel Brian" a familiar voice said, it was the same voice as the lady in the train station, "so you're the one Persephone keeps talking about?," he scoffed "I expected something more, but I guess you'll do" he said in a deep voice, I looked up and there he was, my father his skin was ghostly pale, he had a black, faded, beard; his eyes were a brooding brown, but soon turned pitch black. Before I could say anything else he stood up and touched my forehead, instantly, some shadows dug their way inside my head, where his thumb was; the pain was unbearable, but I couldn't move away, after a lot of minutes, he walked back to his throne "there he can teleport. Now leave" he demanded, Persephone was about to say something towards me, but I was sent back the same way I got summoned.

When I came back, everyone was still in the same place; perhaps in the underworld time doesn't go by as the normal world, after the flames died Raven asked "Did you do that!?" I shook my head and replied "no but I was summoned, by my dad, I can teleport now".

Raven's eyes widen and she held my hands "take me to Olympus, I need to talk to my mom, I want to settle some things with her" she said with a look of pain and tears, I want to help her, but I don't know how to teleport , guess I'll do what I can to help Raven.

I nodded and everyone held on to me, I ,somehow, started to speak in Greek, I could feel how my insides started to rip out of my skin
