32. The Prince of the Dead and The Princess of the Gods

I raised an eyebrow at the page and then at Jasmine "really? why that one?" I asked her, she grinned from ear to ear and opened her mouth wanting to speak, but she stopped as a few harpies landed in front of us, all at the same time.

We looked at them in slight confusion, then it hit us; we were out of our cabins way after curfew, we got ready to make a run for it.

Surprisingly the harpies bowed and spoke in unison "our prince, we're honored to finally meet you sire" both Jasmine and I blinked, but she glared at me "prince huh?" she said raising an eyebrow. I laughed nervously and looked at the harpies "yeah I uh... no need for formalities, you may go on about your business" with a nod the flew off into the sky leaving Jasmine and I alone at the lake side.

Jasmine got off my lap and stood in front of me with her arms crossed and tapping her foot "so when were you gonna tell me you were a prince"
I looked away and whistled making her groan and pull my ear "now. You silly death boy" I yelped and whined as she pulled on my ear "owowowow o-okay let go first!"

She smirked and let go of my ear "now speak. My prince in shining armor, and now you can't say anything about not being a prince" she said smirking
"well, I don't have a shining armor" I smirked trying to change the subject
"yeah yeah, now why didn't you told me you were a prince"

I sighed as my 'plan' didn't work, I looked at her and took a deep breath, "well... that week I was gone... my dad tested us to see who would be worthy of the title prince or princess of the underworld"

Jasmine stood there giving me the blankest of looks as her head tilted to the side "test how?" she asked.

I sighed looking down, I couldn't tell her or anyone what exactly happened I couldn't relive those moments which haunt me every other night.

I looked at her and faked a smiled "just like... Spar against each other for the crown".

She blinked and sat across from me trying to take all of this in "so... I'm friends with a prince... the one from the underworld at that"

I sighed and nodded, we stayed quiet for a long time, before I got this thought on my head: if Zeus was king of the gods then his children would be...

"hey Jasmine I'm not the only royalty in camp" .
she looked at me confused "who's the other?" she asked.
I smiled and nodded towards her "Jasmine, daughter of Zeus, and princess of the gods" I said smirking.
She blinked and looked up "I er... can't argue you win..." she gasped holding her hands over her mouth "oh my gods! you actually won an argument against me!"

I smiled proudly an stuck my tongue out at her "well. Ha!" I said laughing, which made her roll her eyes and giggle softly.

"I still want you to do that spell, prince" she said smirking,  I rolled my eyes and read the page; on it there was a transformation enchantment, it stated that the user must say the name of the thing he/she wanted to turn in to, there was also a warning, but Jasmine planted her hand over it "well? are you gonna do it or not you chicken"

I rolled my eyes and moved her hand away "I can do it, but what would I turn into?" I asked as she grinned mischievously at me "you see, I always wanted a cat"

I raised an eyebrow at her "you want the prince of the underworld, who's kingdom are the dead, to turn into a cat?" she giggled and nodded "yes please".

I sighed and closed the book "what do I get in exchange?".
she placed a finger on her chin, she stayed quiet making gestures until she smiled brightly and held out her dagger "how 'bout this, I get you to be my kitty for a day and you'll get my abilities"

I blinked and stared blankly at her "you want me to be a cat for a day, over the ability to use lightning, cause storms and fly?"  I wondered tilting my head, she nodded smiling

"you get my powers and I get yours, and you'll be my kitty for a day... deal?" she asked stretching her hand my way.
I shook her hand "deal"

She nodded and pulled her hand away as she made a cut deep enough to draw blood, I just raised an eyebrow at her "making that sort of deals with the son of the god who is known for deceit?".

She shook her head "it's part of the deal now gimme your hand".

I hesitantly held my hand open; she did the same cut, a small pain filled my hand, but I bit my tongue trying not to say a thing, she then held our bloodied hands together and said "από την παρούσα συμφωνία του αίματος ενώσουμε τις δυνάμεις μας, του ουρανού και οι νεκροί θα συνδυαστούν αυτά τα δύο θανάσιμο σκάφη που μοιράζονται μοναδική σειρά μας των δεξιοτήτων *".

Suddenly a glow came from our hands, mine was dark and hers was light blue, they mixed with each other before fading away.

When we pulled our hands away the cuts had healed.
Jasmine smiled "my part of the deal is done now your turn". I groaned and held the book as I said the enchantment; without it would just tire me out even more, I cleared my throat and began saying "Με αυτά τα λόγια ζητώ την μεγάλη πηγή της μαγείας στον κόσμο να με μετατρέψει σε ο, τι έχω είναι επιθυμητό να γίνει, θέλω να γίνει το ζώο πιο γνωστή ως μια γάτα, αν η μεγάλη τόμο της μαγείας θα μου το επιτρέψει από την τεράστια της γνώσης. **" .

With that darkness surrounded me with sharp pain shooting into me, I felt my spine growing out of my body making a tail form in my back, my ears moved on top of my head and turned pointed, my fangs grew more as my eyes turned green and cat like, my fingers and toes contracted into my hands and feet leaving nothing but a paw form, my body shrunk so much that my clothes would fall off me, finally I was covered in silky black fur.

As the darkness faded away Jasmine gasped and freaked out "B-Brian!?" she called out. I tried to speak, but only mewls came out of my mouth, soon Jasmine found me in my own clothes and picked me up grinning "Awww aren't you the cutest kitty I've seen...hey that's your new name, you'll be named Kitty and you shall be my kitty" she giggled and cradled me like a baby. I purred involuntary.

I thought 'if I can't talk....then maybe we could speak telepathically'

I looked up at her and meowed cutely "yes Kitty?"

"if my new name is kitty then you'll be my princess"

she smiled and nodded as she started walking to her cabin "since you're a cat you'll be sleeping with me" she whispered before laying down on her bunk. "well my dreams came true" she whispered to me as I curled next to her side "and those would be?" I asked, she smiled and hugged me with a yawn "to have a kitty... and find my best friend". I meowed at her and nuzzled her side "well I'm tired now, goodnight Kitty" she said yawning I purred slightly and curled my tail around me "yeah....goodnight Princess" we both smiled and soon fell asleep peacefully.
