12. A Getaway from Camp

The next days after the war went by like if nothing happened, everyone was doing their usual routine; train, eat, chores, shower and sleep. Even I did all of those things, the only thing I did differently was spend time with Raven, and yes we do the typical couple's thing, except she would disappear all day and pop back in at night, people keep saying that she locks herself in some shed and comes out at night, others say she does something out of camp; When I asked her what she does outside of camp, all she would do is say "it's a secret...sorry... but hey whatever it is, I'm not seeing anyone else right?" I had to accept that, in fact I was curious, but I trust her. One day she told me to go to the lake at midnight, I got rather. What's the word? Oh yeah, suspicious.

When I got there she had a backpack and some combat boots "oh you're here....I uh gotta leave camp...for a... personal quest...I don't know how long I'll take" her voice was cracking and she wouldn't even look at me, she was just kicking some pebbles "and...I don't want to keep you waiting on me so...we could break up...i-if you want...I'll understand" at this point tears were rolling down her cheeks, I hugged her tightly and kissed her head "like tartarus I would let you go" I said as she clung to me "I'm...an iris message away got it?" she said between sobs "you mean I could throw a gold coin into a rainbow, say your name and then I can see you? Wow what kind of voodoo magic is that?" i asked trying to get her to smile, she laughed softly and planted her lips on mine "you always get me to smile death boy" I chuckled "the sun light's up the day, the moon light's up the night but you light up my life" she blushed up to her ears and punched my chest "I'm leaving and you say stuff like that....gods I'll miss you" "I'll miss you too birdy" I smirked knowing she hated being called that way and she punched me hard enough I doubled over holding my stomach, but she kissed me yet again "so you don't forget .....I love you Brian" she whispered in my ear "I love you too Raven" we kissed one last time and she ran off to the distance. I felt how a piece of me left with her.

I tried spending more time either doing chores or training, but at night when I was supposed to sleep, the memories of my time with her came flashing back to me; there were times where I couldn't even catch any sleep at all.

One day, Jack asked if I could help him practice summoning monsters, I agreed and we practiced, but he wanted to summon a minotaur and when he did. It vanished as well as any other summons we made earlier, out of a shadow came a girl with long flowing hair and cold blue eyes; it was one of my sisters, her name's Katherine but everyone calls her Kat "ugh, must you boys have to bring all the monster into camp? I swear " she is always moody, but Jack didn't seem to care, he just stared like a fool. Kat kept rambling on and on about monsters. I lost interest and looked at a bird passing by behind her, but there was a part I listened to "Gods Jack we're older, why don't you try to be good role model" I snapped out of it "did you just?" she just smirked at me "yes. I mentioned your age wittle bwoteh" they both laughed, all I could do is pout and stand there until jack said "hey this isn't fun, let's leave camp and go somewhere" Kat raised her eyebrow "and go where exactly?" Jack shrugged "always wanted to go to Japan" at the mention of Japan Kat's eyes widened and she ran back to the Hades cabin.

Jack and I stared at each other and Kat came back throwing a brief case at me "here's your stuff, I got mine. JACK GO GET YOURS!" with that Jack ran away and Kat started giggling, no sooner he came back "there, got all I needed. Now, I know of a portal, but it's far away" Kat quickly kicked Jack on his shin "then get running you!!" he yelped and ran off, Kat held tightly to my hand and ran behind Jack. I was barely catching up with them; when she suddenly stopped at the entrance of a cave, but it had this big black double doors, "wow, huge door" she said and Jack nodded "we wish to go to Japan" the doors made a noise and slowly opened, showing a grassland "c'mon let's go" said Jack walking into it, I backed up a bit what if that portal isn't safe? I thought to myself, but then Kat pushed me in giggling.

I landed face first on some grass, I got up, we were in field as wide as the eye can see "whoa" I said amazed and Kat chuckled "yeah I know...but the city is back here" I turned and saw this city, it was amazing; two different environments next to each other "well, we'll need a place to stay" said Jack before Kat got into her bag and took out a scrap book and pointed to a page "if it's this place, then we go to this motel" she said vaguely and ran off, me and Jack tried to catch up to her, she went into a building and talked to a girl behind a counter; right when Jack and I were about to sit down she came up with a key "come on, I have the best room in here" we groaned and followed her to the room,she opened the door and we didn't even pay attention to the room since we quickly crashed and slept on the bed, for some reason we were exhausted.

It must've been really early in the morning when we got there because there was already noise coming from everywhere, only a few hours after we arrived. I tried to sleep, like a miracle the only thing I could think of was.... actually I could only think of a wolf and lightning. After I saw lightning in a dream, I woke up to someone poking my face which made me groan "Kat not funny" a giggle rang around the room and a young voice said "well Kat isn't here nor is that other guy just lil ol me, so wake up I'm bored"
