46. The First Prophecy

The horns kept blowing to no end, I shrugged them off not really interested on what happened, or it could probably just be some news about more vending machines or wifi. I tried staying in my cabin, but sure enough someone knocked on my door "mister Grey sir? Chiron wants to see you outside the big house" said a shakily young voice, I groaned and left the tome on the desk before walking to the door. As I opened the door I saw a young boy around his 10 years, his hair was a bright blonde, it was short kinda like if he had just gotten a haircut. He had freckles on his cheeks, his skin darker as if he had stayed out in the sun for a long time, his eyes were dark blue and he had an innocent smile on his lips.

"Um... Hey, why does Chiron want to see me?" I asked the kid, he shrugged and looked up at me "don't know, oh I'm James, son of Apollo but my friends call me Jimmy" he nodded and 'escorted' me to the big house, a four story barn house like house, yes it was red at one point, then changes into brown, white and black.

Everyone was gathered there, and of course being part cat and having pink eyes made everyone instantly look at me, James, confused on why, just held onto my hand "this way mister Grey" he said tugging me towards Chiron in his centaur form and Dionysus.

James and I bowed slightly at the two, James smiled and walked back to the crowd. Dionysus rolled his eyes, Chiron chuckled "Brian there you are, now the reason why you were brought here was that-"

"the oracle walked out of her attic and said a prophecy, it sounds just like you" Dionysus interrupted

The oracle was the spirit of Delphi, she uses an old mummy that is in the attic of the big house (along with some quest items).

I, confused, stared at them motioning them to go on, Chiron gave me a smile that a teacher would give a dumb student after he passed a class "the prophecy goes as is:

A son of shadows
Wearer of the silver crown
Must travel through mountain tops
Explore the darkest caves with the nights gown

With nothing but the lighting of love by his side
They shall find the daughter of snow
Trapped in her own demise
Once out, her body will glow
And She may live her on own "

Everyone had a confused look, everyone but the Hades cabin and myself. I sighed and mumbled "Crown of the Prince, I order thee to appear" with no time to waste my crown materialized on top of my head, as soon as it did there were many gasps and murmurs amongst the demigods, Chiron smiled and bowed, but Dionysus rolled his eyes and took a sip of diet coke "demigods in camp half-blood, I present to you, Brian Grey, the Prince of the underworld" as I looked back I saw most of the demigods bow, with a few exceptions of the Hades cabin and Ares cabin. Chiron stood straight and nodded "you're the one of the prophecy, but only may the 'lightning of love' accompany you, any idea whom it would be?" I instantly knew who it was, but decided to not tell "I may know someone. I'm sure said person would like to stay a mystery" as soon as I said that a thunder boomed in the distance followed by a loud "AWOOOOO!!"

I face-palmed as I knew who it was. Of course who would be loud enough but my dearest boyfriend Joey. I sighed and watched how a lightning came flying straight towards me, everyone screamed and ducked trying to not get hurt by it, but I stood there with my arms crossed, Chiron tried to moved me while Dionysus kept drinking from his can, not even caring if anything happened.

I held my hand out as if I tried to catch the lightning, what I got was a Joey's face on my hand "ow" he mumbled into my hand, I chuckled.
The lightning behind him slowly faded away, Dionysus sighed not amused and walked inside to get some other drink, Chiron also chuckled and motioned us both in "campers, you may return to your daily routines" he waved them off as he walked inside the big house to wait for us.

The other campers instantly walked away in a messy manner, Joey's head still on my hand, though he was giggling "what's so funny?" I asked "well your hands always smell like old books" he giggled, I rolled my eyes and pulled my hand away from his face.

Jammy jumped up next to us smiling "hello mister Stone, sorry about that arrow, a brother told me that that's the only way to get you to help us train" he explained, Joey smiled and ruffled his hair "no problem little man, but now I gotta take care of some business, don't go shooting people's heads" James giggled and walked away yelling "no promises mister Stone!".

I blinked looking at Joey, he noticed and smiled his toothy smile "that arrow back in the cabin, it was him reminding me to train him and his siblings. Yes I forget some times and they knew where I was" he explained, I nodded slowly and pulled him inside the big house.

Chiron and Dionysus were sitting around a ping pong table, Joey and I sitting in front of them, they explained... Well Chiron explained; there was a daughter of Khione in camp, she was a happy go lucky girl, everyone knew her because she would be everywhere around camp, but one day no one was able to locate her, they did sent search parties and satyrs to look for the girl to no avail, she was deemed lost, but now with the prophecy; they had one more day of hope to find her.

Chiron entrusted us with a box holding a celestial bronze whip, Joey tried to pull it out, but Chiron instantly stopped him, it appears that the whip is bounded to the girl, we can't use it without getting frozen or frostbite.

Joey still wanted to pull it out until I smacked the back of his head, I held the box away from Joey and stood up with him accepting the quest, Chiron smiled brightly and showed us a map of mountains with cave systems, we took the map and walked outside.

Joey and I agreed to get ready and meet at the gate, we parted ways, a few minutes later I had fixed a bag with what we needed, I sighed deeply and laid in bed, that's when I felt someone else next to me, I slowly turned and saw Joey "boo" he whispered and wrapped his arms around me, his head resting against my chest, I blushed, but went with it by holding him close, our legs intertwined as we slowly drifted off to sleep.
