34. A Prank on the Kids of the Sun

That night Jasmine had told me to sleep on top of a tree so I wouldn't get weird looks or people insulting me. I slept on a tree near the Zeus cabin. It's weird having a tail and cat ears, but I also feel more balanced, and all my other senses were enhanced, I could hear the wind passing through the leaves, my eyes would sharpen and made it possible for me to look in the dark at will; I could also smell the strawberries even though the fields were a long way from the cabin.

I was sitting on the highest branch and leaning against the trunk, I could only cuddle with my tail as I thought on how I would be able to hide these new 'features'.

The next day, it would appear I slept until very late since there was already a few campers running around doing their business, I tried jumping down, but I remembered that Jasmine told me to wait for her. Hours flew by, I was shooting some arrows at random trees; where Jasmine could be is a huge mystery to me. I shook my head and looked up thinking on how my mom has been doing all this time I was away from home.

A Camp hat was thrown at me, I yelped and caught it quickly "nice reflexes Kitty cat" Jasmine said as she landed in front of me.

"As much as I'd like to thank you. I don't really like wearing hats" I stated, Jasmine chuckled and nodded "I know. Well your tail can be tucked in your shirt. Unless you can hide your ears, then I suggest you wear that hat" she said.

I smirked, my ears folded back and I moved my hair over them, then stuck my tongue out at Jasmine, she rolled her eyes and shook her head "fine, but you're keeping the hat" I nodded and looked at it.

It wasn't much,  just a simple black hat with the camp half-blood, which was just a Pegasus under a sign saying 'camp half-blood', this logo was golden and on the inside there was something written in cursive 'property of Brian Grey, steal it and you will be struck by lightning'.

I looked at Jasmine and smiled as I hugged her "thanks Princess" she giggled and hugged back "you're welcome Kitty, oh right. I may or may not have pretended to have died to some Apollo campers"

I blinked and pulled away from the hug, she whistled and looked away, I held her chin and made her look at me "what else happened, missy" she groaned and lazily pushed my hand away "before I 'died'," she said using air quotes, "I told them to look for my boyfriend... Brian Grey"

We both blushed slightly, I stayed quiet so she could continue "so... basically there are three Apollo kids looking for you".

I only stared at her as if saying 'are you serious!?', she held her hands up in defeat smiling "hey, bare with me okay?, look this is the perfect prank to pull. I even found these sunglasses that makes whoever puts them on invisible"

I raised an eyebrow and crossed my arms "and where did you found these sunglasses" she smiled and laughed nervously "well I won't tell you I didn't found it on your bunk one day"

I rolled my eyes and flicked her nose "if it's a good prank I'm game. where do I find these kids" she pouted, but soon the pout turned into a wide smile "they'll be looking for you at the lake, I'll be there, so hurry Kitty" she said putting on the sunglasses and disappearing in front of my eyes.

I lifted my shirt and wrapped my tail around my waist before pulling it back down, I looked around the tree and jumped down since there was no one around, awkwardly enough I landed on all fours, I had no time to think about it and walked towards the lake.

There I looked around and made a look of desperation as I paced around on the sand, a group of kids walked on the lakeside, I didn't pay much attention to them as I was 'waiting' for someone. The kids looked at each other nervously, one tapped my shoulder "uh... sir... are you waiting for someone?" he asked shaking, I looked at them and saw two boys and one girl, all with the same blonde hair, tanned skin and blue eyes. "Yeah... my girlfriend, Jasmine" their eyes widened as they exchanged looks, the girl broke into tears on one of the boy's shoulder.

"Would you be... Brian Grey?" One asked.

I nodded, they got teary eyed "sir... you're girlfriend died... we tried helping her... but she was too hurt...we buried her... would you like to see her grave" I bit my tongue trying not laugh, my time in those drama classes are finally gonna pay off,

I faked a few tears as I fell to my knees with my lip quivering "I... she... died... please take me to her" the kids nodded and helped me get to my feet.

They took me to a small lump of dirt near an oak tree "there...we buried her there" the girl said, I nodded and kneeled down in front of it "h-hey Princess... I... was about to ask you something important.... I was gonna propose tonight... guess... we'll never be happy anymore" I said shaking as tears slowly rolled down my cheeks, soon a gentle breeze made an appearance and whistled "don't worry Kitty, I love you" I smiled slightly and nodded "I love you too my Princess".

I got up slowly and Jasmine slowly faded in looking like a ghost, we hugged and I cried loudly, this was too much for the kids and they all fainted.

Jasmine and I laughed so hard we fell to the ground "guess it was too much huh?" I asked, she nodded "c'mon we better wake them up" she said, we both woke the kids up and explained what happened; surprisingly they took it well and laughed at the end of the day.

A few hours later Jasmine and I sat at the lake still laughing until she looked at a pendant around her neck "hey Kitty... you can teleport... could you take me to the person who gave this to me?" she asked as she took it off, I nodded and held it with her, I concentrated on the pendant and before we knew it we were in front of a small light blue house, Jasmine tensed up and took deep breaths before hesitantly walking towards the door, I sighed and held her hand as we walked on the gravel pathway to the door, she then knocked on it, and the door slowly opened with a shriek.
