14. A Dance With The Beasts

Jasmine shot the minotaur's hand making him drop Kat to the ground, she glared at Jasmine and ran towards her "you couldn't have thought of a better plan!?" she yelled to Jasmine; who just hugged her "nice to see you too, now let's kill some monsters" said Jasmine and Kat nodded "hey baby bro, you can stay behind and watch...uh. Where'd he go?". While they were rambling. I charged at the minotaur with the bident at hand, I somehow knew how to use one. The minotaur raised his hand, I used the blade part of the bident to hold his wrist, along with the pressure he was making, his hand was cut of making it roar in pain. I used the time it roared to attack his head, but it moved and the bident cut off a horn, then I turned around and threw the shaft of the Bident at the back of his neck. The Minotaur feel forward with pure white eyes. I landed on the dead Minotaur's back glaring at the manticore and nemean lion that were just standing there.

Soon Jasmine and Kat ran to my side and said in unison "show off" I grinned and took the bident out of the minotaur's neck making him turn into golden dust "just, keep that lion busy while I kill that manticore" I said charging towards it, I could see Kat throwing rocks at the lion, but not Jasmine, that's when I turned to the other side "think you can have all the fun?" she said smiling. All I could was smile back, she shot an arrow towards the manticore, it got it on its leg, but it didn't even flinch, instead, it whipped its tail sending spikes at us, Jasmine pushed me out of the way of one, she barely dodged another, "gods, must I save your life like a damsel in distress?" she said smirking and holding out her hand, I took her hand and she pulled me up, but she did it a bit too fast and we fell back on the ground, I used my hands as a support me to not fall on top of her.

We were both blushing up to our ears when Kat yelled "STOP BEING SOME GODS DAMNED LOVE BIRDS AND WATCH OUT!!" she then got in front of us and used a sword to deflect spikes coming at us. Jasmine and I quickly got up and stood next to Kat "have you two stopped being some romantic lunatics?" she said before me and Jasmine smacked her in the head. Both the manticore and nemean lion didn't waste any time and charged at us, Jasmine had her bow ready and aimed at the lion, Kat charged towards said lion; I lunged at the manticore, I saw how it's legs tensed, meaning it was about to throw more spikes. The blade part of my bident was aiming at where its tail would be. As soon as it turned the blade cut through the base of its tail like knife on butter, it stumbled down and I planted the staff of the bident on its back turning it into dust.

Meanwhile Kat and jasmine were trying to make the nemean lion roar, but it wouldn't, it would only try to pounce over either girl. I ran to Jasmine's side who kept shooting at the lion "he isn't opening its mouth huh?" I asked, "no. Actually he opened it and I'm just shooting at it for fun" she said rolling her eyes. Kat was caught under the lion's paws as she screamed for help, I ran and tackled the lion, making it turn to me and started to growl "come and get me over-grown kitten" I mocked running towards Jasmine, it then started to chase me "ARE YOU CRAZY!?!?" Jasmine yelled at me "get its mouth!!" I answered, she was going to say something, but she was cut off by the roar of the lion to which she immediately shot and arrow down the it's throat.

I got next to her "did it die?" she shook her head "just stunned, help me get it's paw and put it in its maw" I nodded and ran towards the lion grabbing it's paw and placing it on its maw, soon Jasmine tackled it, the lion choke on its own paw, soon it turned to dust and Kat walked up to us holding her side "I would say good job, but you know I almost got killed, like twice today" both Jasmine and I laughed at that moment.

Kat rolled her eyes and looked at the pile of dust "spoils of war...well get it baby brother" I looked at Jasmine "you get it, technically you killed it" Jasmine shook her head "I don't want it, and I want you to have it" I smiled and kissed her head "thanks little one" she blushed and punched my shoulder, I chuckled and grabbed onto the dust; the lion's pelt turned into a leather jacket, I placed it over my shoulder "oh and hurry up getting the others. I'll take Jasmine inside and watch some TV" Jasmine quickly ran inside with Kat. I got to the other dust piles and got both of the minotaur's horns and a couple of Mantycore spikes. The only way I could carry all of the my stuff was placing the bident on my back, being held by the jacket as my hands were busy holding the horns and spikes, I walked back to the house, but stopped checking the garden "whoa this is a nice garden...could be better though" I looked around the nicely sized garden, in my head were coming ideas on how it would be better, soon I was sitting down watching how the sun was setting down on the hill behind the house, I was smiling the whole time watching the sun go down, but then i heard something weird; a wolf howl. For all I know wolfs don't live in Japan, maybe I was going crazy. But then I saw a small shadow forming on the setting sun, as a matter of seconds it grew and what I saw was a horse size silver wolf howling and running towards the house. I placed all of the horns and spikes next to me as I stood up and tried to hold onto the bident, but it was too late the wolf had pounced over me and it was staring at me growling. Its fur look like real silver, and its eyes were a light blue color, it kept growling as its snout was opening and creeping towards my neck, all I could do was struggle, but it was useless it had me pinned down, and it was a matter of seconds before its fangs were planted on my neck.
