42. The Green Rose of the Wolf

"I uh.... Sure" I said shrugging slightly. Joey gave a wide toothy smile and fist pumped the air "yes!" He shouted, but he must have been somewhere else in his head, since I was still there, well he eventually found out and blushed slightly "I uh...." He scratched his head being very flustered, "do you wanna meet somewhere sometime? Before the fight anyway" He said not looking at me, but rather the dirt. I laughed softly and nodded "Outside your cabin, in two hours ".

Joey smiles and nodded "sounds good, but it's a long way to camp from here" he said looking over at some trees just a few ways from us. "Yeah it is a long way, but I could always" before I finished that sentence I held his hand and teleported back to camp. He, of course, yelp and tightened his grip on my hand.

We had appeared by the big house, I tried letting go of his hand, but he wouldn't let go, when I looked over at him he was panting as he held his knee with one hand "a shadow lover eh?" He asked straightening up, I smirked and nodded "an air head huh?".

He laughed and smiled at me "good one, well see you later", he expected me to walk away, but I couldn't seeing he wouldn't let go of my hand.

"yeah I need my hand back" I said casually, he blushed more and let go of my hand "I... Sorry, but you caught me off guard" his voice a bit shaky, I giggled and held his chin "there will be more surprises later on, bright eyes" I whispered and walked away leaving him with his jaw hung open "he's so cool" I could hear him whisper.

Soon I arrived at my cabin, Saria was sitting in front of the door as if she was waiting for me "something wrong?" I asked her as I walked in and laid down on the bed. "You forget I can know how you feel and you like him" she said jumping next to me on the bed "pfffft no I don't" I rolled over to the side trying to hide my blush "mmhmm well I have something to tell you" she said nuzzling my side "what is it?" I asked sitting up slightly.

"Well being a wolf is hard enough and all that... I mean we're still linked and all, but " she was cut off by me hugging her, she sat there surprised and then laid her head over my shoulder "you better be safe, I'll miss you... And... I love you" I whispered and hugged tighter.

Saria nodded and nuzzled my neck "I love you too Brian, I'll miss you too" she said with a tear rolling down her snout... Or cheek... Do wolves have cheeks?.

Saria pulled away from the hug and licked my cheek "I'll appear from time to time, got it?" She asked, I nodded, she then jumped off my bed and ran out the door, I sighed and looked around the room only to notice a green rose, on full bloom, on my desk, must be some goodbye gift from Saria.

Hours flew by as I only stared at the ceiling with nothing to do really, I even started saying nonsense like "you know... That ceiling is sexy... I'd marry that ceiling" among others things that I wouldn't be proud of sharing.... Anyway, two hours came and I jumped out of my bed, the sun was setting and it was time to meet up with Joey.

I nervously fixed my clothes and hair, making sure all of my cat parts were hidden, but of course I still had pink eyes... Joy. As I made my way to the Zeus cabin I could feel so many eyes on me, every time I looked towards someone they would look away, it was weird seeing how no one would notice me when I first got here, and I certainly don't feel like I did anything major for people to look my way.

Joey was leaning against his cabin's wall, one leg up like if he was some sort of 90's bad boy, when he saw me he flashed one of his toothy smiles and walked over "there you are, thought you got lost, come on I want to know how skilled you are" he said grabbing my hand and pulling me into the arena, all I did was laugh and nod "yeah I got lost because this camp is sooo big" I said sarcastically, he looked at me and furrowed his eyebrows "seriously?" He asked.

I rolled my eyes and flicked his nose "silly, now let's fight " I said walking a few ways away from him, then tucking my right hand inside my pocket and my left hand wielding my sword ring, Joey shrugged and made electricity run along his hand, on the other he was holding a sword that resembled a lightning bolt of sorts "are you gonna use a weapon?" He asked getting into a lower position, I smirked at him and stood straight and loosely "I am using one, now hit me with your best shot".

Joey looked very confused, but he gave no second thought , he ran towards me and did a jump slash, I kept smirking as with a swift flick; one of my dual blades appeared on my left hand and blocked his slash, his eyes widened and jumped away from me "well you did promise surprises" he said and lunged at me "boy you'd be surprised " I answered and lunged at him, our swords clashed with a loud metallic sound and slid down to their hilts, our faces eye to eye as we got too close, our swords forming an X shape, before he could react I jumped back and swept his feet, he smirked and back flipped away, "well you are agile and swift" I remarked
"why thanks you're not half bad yourself " he stated.

I stood in position and Joey circled around me as if he was some predator and I was the prey, "if I die because of this I'll hunt you in the after life" he said before stabbing towards my side, I side stepped and used my sword to move his's away "well if I did I would be robbing the world of such a cute face" I answered and lunged towards him, he giggled and fell back using his feet to throw me off. Which worked, his feet pushed me from my stomach a few feet away from him, we both jumped back to our feet and got in a different position, he had his stance wide and body lowered while I held the sword near my midriff .

"Well I can't say the same about you, I would be robbing the world of such a handsome hunk" Joey said smirking, I could feel a blush sneak on my cheeks, I shook my head and smirked "so I found myself a flatterer huh?" I asked getting closer, "yeah what are you gonna do about it?" He asked getting ready to attack "guess I'll just have to hush you up" I said softly as I lowered my sword, this made Joey loosened his position and stare at me "and how will you do that pretty boy?".

I blinked and smirked "oh you'll see" he then gave me a 'what' look, I used this time to sweep his feet, this time it actually worked as he fell on his back, then I quickly dropped the sword and placed that hand over his mouth "told you I'd managed a way" he groaned and snickered as he licked my palm, this made me pull my hand away and dry it off on his clothes.

He jumped back on his feet and laughed "good match, want to go walk around and get to know each other?" He asked looking at me, I smiled and nodded "sure where toooo!" I yelled as he had held onto my waist and took me flying off into the night sky.
