27. The Last Trial

Hades appeared in front of us all and said "lastly. I have to know if you're willing to take a life, so now you'll be fighting each other for the crown and you better leave in 3".

My eyes widened, I got up quickly and placed Angie on my shoulders "2".

She held tightly to my hair, I got ready to run, there was a cave on one of the mountains; that's where I would stop "1"

I closed my eyes tightly and held onto Angie's legs

"kill!" Hades shouted. My eyes shot open, I ran my way through the rocks and hills; only hearing the sound of metal clashing, screams of agony and death.

As we got inside the cave I fell to the ground panting, my heart was racing so fast it could fly out of my chest in any given moment. Angie had gotten off my shoulders and sat next to me in a criss cross way, she then began petting me "there there, we're safe in here" I could feel her shake as the words barely came out of her mouth, I sighed and got up "we need...to hide ourselves" I mumbled as I walked to the entrance of the cave and made it look like a wall of the same material that tartarus is made of.

I once again collapsed, but this time I leaned against the wall and started to breathe heavily. Angela was starring my way and sighed, she got up only to walk towards me "you need rest big brother, I'll watch the entrance" I nodded and soon passed out.

I have no clue how long I have been sleeping, but when I woke up I saw Angie holding one of my dual blades. "oh hey you're up" she smiled and looked at me, her face being somewhat dirty "what happened...while I was out?" i asked and rubbed my head; which by the way was pounding like crazy.

"well... someone walked in and I uh...hurt him" Angie mumbled looking away

"Hurt him how much?" I asked tilting my head

"he....turned to dust" we both sighed, I took the sword from her "that's... great..." she nodded and sat on my lap before curling up "this place...it's mean" she said shaking, I held onto her and nodded "yeah. It sure is".

We stayed that way for what seemed hours, but it soon changed when we heard movement, Angie got one of my words; I got the other.

We heard someone yelling "hey fellas! I found an illusion. Someone's in here" we both groaned and hid behind some boulders that were on either side of the cave , a few shadows came into view between us, Angie started moving weirdly, she was grumbling under her breath, I signaled her to stay quiet and get ready to slash; she nodded and held tightly the hilt of the sword.

Two of our siblings walked up in front of us, but they couldn't see us, I nodded at Angie and she swiftly moved from one side of the wall to the other making deep cuts on their legs, before they could even react I did the same, but instead of their legs being cut it was their throats so they couldn't scream. Once that was done, both Angie and I stabbed their hearts turning them into dust.

We smiled at each other, but that smile soon faded away as we heard even more movement outside the cave, "hey guys found anything yet?" we heard a female voice coming from outside. Angie smirked and lunged towards it; even after I told her not to. I heard a scream and quickly ran out, only to see Toria holding Angie with a dagger at her neck "hey there Brian, don't worry you're next" she grinned and held the dagger towards Angie's chest.

My eyes began flickering between black and brown, my shadow went into Toria's.
I smirked "we'll see who dies first now, won't we?" Toria looked at me confused; her eyes widened as I controlled her hands making her free Angie. Angie quickly ran toward me and nuzzled my side "thanks big brother" I nodded at her and looked at Toria who had teary eyes "y-you wouldn't hurt y-your sister r-right B-Brian?" I grinned and raised my hand which made her hover over the ground "you would. So why shouldn't I?" I asked tilting my head still grinning.

I slowly broke every bone in her body, she screamed loudly and begged for me to kill her already, but I wouldn't, she tried killing my baby sister; that is something that can't go unpunished, but then Angie tugged on my shirt and looked at me with her big dark brown eyes.

I smiled as I heard Toria's neck snap and saw how she turned into dust, Angie sighed and held my hand "come on, back to the cave we go" I nodded and walked towards the cave, but stopped at the entrance; Angie looked at me confused, my eyes widened. I picked her up and ran away from the cave as some hellhounds came running out, I looked around us; I saw a group of our siblings fighting and the hounds catching up on us. I smirked and ran between the group of fighters, making the hounds attack them.

I kept running until I reached a small hill and looked back at the group of demigods, they were all being bitten on, scratched, even turned to dust faster by the hounds sudden attack.

After they died, the hounds howled and looked our way. I placed Angie on her own feet, she held onto my hand with one hand and the other holding the sword. I did the same, but with the sword on my left hand. When the hounds reached us; we slashed, swirled and moved gracefully, like a perfect dance, as we cut some hound heads off.

After every hound was dead we cheered and hugged, but it didn't last long because Hades had flashed in in front of us "ugh, you two are disgustingly sweet, luckily only one may win. Who shall it be, the boy who cheated death or the girl who won't stop getting sick" he said smirking, Angie and I looked at each other , she sighed "I-I am sickly... h-hey b-big brother promise me something" She said with tears falling down her cheeks, I wiped them off and smiled sadly "and what shall I promise my baby sister" she sighed and whispered "p-please....k-kill me q-quickly".
