55. A Sigh of Relief

Have you ever been inside a tornado? ... Well you'd be dead, but if you were and you're reading this, you are awesome. Back to that question; have you ever been into one of those tornado simulators inside of malls? Well think of that to the ten fold and add really thick layers of snow, then you'll find out how wild these north winds are. Not that I'm telling you to do that, that's just crazy.

This blizzard was raging around us for what seemed hours, but that's probably just me not liking standing there doing absolutely nothing. Chloe mouthed some nonsense I didn't even bother figure out; Joey was standing there shaking in his big cozy Parma. In reality only a few minutes passed before the blizzard died down; my eyes were closed because the sun was shining on my face, when I opened them, I noticed that we were in between all the tables in the dining hall. We had arrived just in time for breakfast!

Mr. D, or Dionysus, was wearing his typical leopard-spotted shirt with white khakis shorts, his eyes were grape purple; he fashioned a black, almost purple, beard and curly hair, he looked like one of those old uncles you would never visit.

Chiron was standing next to him in his centaur form, he had an orange camp t-shirt, and that was about it, horses don't wear pants. He has dark brown brooding eyes, thin brunette hair, a scruffy beard, and he definitely looks like an English teacher, but he could also pass by a hippie; his horse body was that of a pure white stallion.
Both headmaster, and everyone in camp, were eating their breakfast, that was until snow dropped down on their food; this didn't phase Mr. D, he reached out his can of diet coke so it could be colder.

There was an overwhelming silence around, that was until James ran up in his camp uniform; which is shorts and the orange camp t-shirt, he also had a small golden lightning necklace, "You guys are back!!" He yelled and hugged us, no sooner everyone cheered and clapped.

Chloe was dragged off by what I would assume were her friends; Joey was picked up and carried on the shoulders of his siblings. I wasn't really cheered on, it hurt on the inside yeah, but I was always good at hiding it. I gathered my stuff and attempted to sneak out of the whole commotion; that was until I was stopped by Angie and Lassie.

They both hugged me and said "welcome back". That was enough to make me smile, Both gals took me to Zeus's fist, a large rock formation in the woods of camp; there I told them what had happened in the quest.

Angie cringed and shuddered "evil big spidew" she mumbled, Lassie snickered and nuzzled into my side "I'm glad you came back complete" said Lassie.

I nodded and turned back all of my weapons into their accessory form "yeah. I should probably give this back to Chloe" I said looking at the dark bracelet.

Lassie stood up and picked Angie up with her snout "good luck with that big bwothew, we'll be awound camp" Angie said before Lassie sprinted off towards the cabins.

I got up and stretched some; my bones cracked like if I was an old man. I searched for Chloe and Joey for a long time, they weren't in the arena, their cabins, nor the stables; the only place that was left to look in was the infirmary. I wish I didn't even peeped inside of that place, Joey was laying down on a bed, a son of Hephaestus was using some sort of fire to try and melt the ice on Joey's arm, Chloe was standing on the other side of the bed attempting to control the ice's growth, but they only managed to weaken it.

I ran towards Joey with tears in my eyes "Joey Stone! You better not die on me you hear!?" I growled, Chloe gave me a sympathetic look, she knew something I didn't, but she also seemed like she wouldn't say it.

Joey was gasping for air, the fire wasn't helping him, out of instinct I held onto the ice and ignited my hand in underworld fire, I even prayed to Khione and Apollo for Joey to get better; it worked, Joey's faced gained back some color, his breathing had leveled, although, he didn't wake up.

I pulled my hand away and took a deep breath, Joey could finally breath normally. I managed to not pass out so that's a plus. I sat next to Chloe who was holding her head "I have no clue what you did, but it helped him, I can't thank you enough for... Taking care of this air head while I was gone" Chloe mumbled. I stared at her, did she knew Joey before? Just how long has she been in this camp?. Chloe looked at me and smiled slightly "but that doesn't matter anymore, I'll explain later" she added.

I nodded slowly and held out my right hand "I believe this is yours". Chloe giggled to herself and simply pulled the bracelet off "yeah, children of Khione can simply take it back, no need for fancy words" she smiled and placed the bracelet back on her own wrist, the band turned from black to silver instantly.

James came running inside panting "is mister Stone okay!?" He yelled between pants, Chloe giggled some and got up "yeah he's fine, just needs some rest. I'll be off to find what I have missed, Skull head here can teach you and your siblings while air head rests. See you around" said the daughter of snow before walking out the door.

Jimmy made a face, but soon lighten up "I heard you have a great shot! Come everyone is waiting!" He said dragging me out of the infirmary and into the arena, there was roughly thirty kids from ages 8-14 in here; I did my best to try to teach them about archery, although it somehow changed into me showing them how to use staff and bladed weapons.

This went on for a few days, the kids seemed to have gotten better at everything I thought them; even Chiron was impressed, he gave me the title 'junior counselor' which means I'm in charge of my cabin when the head counselor leaves, and 'weapons trainer' this means I'm giving out classes to those who would like a lesson. Chiron also told me that Joey was getting much better, but still had to make a recovery; little did we knew that demigods weren't the only ones to visit Joey, but in fact, a hooded harbinger.
