Quite a while later, when the order had settled again, all students gathered back in their respective classrooms. I floundered back amongst the last ones and took my seat next to Iida, who was eyeing me in the most sedate manner.

When I finally settled down, he slightly leaned towards me and inquisitively whispered, "Hamahiru! How on earth did you get outside the building that fast?!"

I pinched my lips sideways, "Ehh. Long story Iida," and rested my chin on my palm, looking back at the blackboard, where Midoriya and Yaoyorozu were standing.

Aizawa did a quick intervention explaining what had happened outside and why the alarm had gone off. Strange, why doesn't he mention the explosively ruined entrance gate?

I risked a hidden glimpse at Bakugo, wondering if he was coming to similar considerations. Yet, judging by his untroubled body language, it didn't seem to be the case. Or so I thought. Wrongly so, as his sharp senses did feel my discreet gaze, but he chose not to react to it. Because there wasn't a thing we could do about the situation for the time being anyway.

The rest of the day passed without further hitches, apart from Greenie's unexpected inquiry to appoint Iida as Class Rep due to his quick-witted and mature intervention during the evacuation drill. The rest of the class appeared more than positive about that choice.

Iida, for one, started to feel pins and needles in his back due to this sudden change, and before giving his response, I noticed his optics on me, to which my head jerked in his direction. For the first time since school began, unease was written all over his usually determination-filled appearance.

I gave him a hazy reassuring smile and an approving dip, gesturing to him to walk to the front. After reciprocating the nod, he stood up and accepted the role very humbly, earning him cheers and encouragement from his peers.

After class, Tokoyami and I still had to meet our teacher dearest for the much-anticipated talk. That's going to be an absolute joy ride. I can feel it.

After a short silence, Aizawa pivoted on his desk chair to face us, crossing his arms. "Now, as much as I appreciate your candor, Tokoyami, it would've been preferable to discuss such matters with a more limited audience." He sighed deeply, "Please, do keep that in mind."

"Naturally, Sir. I am deeply sorry for my misstep." Tokoyami's shoulders tensed as he felt guilty putting me on the spot earlier.

"As for you, Hamahiru, I don't recall hearing you plead not guilty." I felt the tired teacher's stare piercing into my forehead as my own eyes were pasted to the side. "Care to comment?" casually added Aizawa.

Sure, bite me. Both of you. Crossing my legs over each other, I finally matched his mildly traumatizing scowl. "As I previously explained to Tokoyami here, I firmly believe that he does underestimate his analytical abilities."

This debate's outcome was now singularly based on my bluffing skills, and I swiveled towards the bird-headed complainant. "Look, I realize that you assume that I was pulling strings all along. But, for my part, I was only trying to avoid another A-D team scenario, if you know what I mean."

I could tell that my last point made sense to Raven-boy, "You didn't want us to fight without knowing how to combine our strengths and weaknesses in the best way...."

He finally locked eyes with me while I stayed poker-faced. "Correct. I am pretty sure other teams did the same thing after witnessing their miserable performance."

Lucidity ran over his face as I was about to present my final elucidation. "So, I really wasn't manipulating you in any way. On the contrary, I merely mimicked what the others did before us."
