Rewrite The Stars

AN: @Womenarepretty I am sorry! I will get around to that link you sent me it was funny as fuck but my friend is obsessed with the greatest showman and this seemed too cute not to do (Raise your hand if your surprised I haven't written it yet?) 

Lena is Zac Efron's character

Kara is Zendaya's character

(I forget exactly what happens before this scene so please ignore all inaccuracy with that and the description of the movements) 

3rd Person POV

Kara storms away from Lena annoyed at the women for disrupting her practice time and for the conversation they were having. 

Kara pauses in her movement only for a second when Lena sings "You know I want you." Kara unwraps the rope from its tied spot as Lena continues "It's not a secret I tried to hide" Lena moves forward a step as Kara continues to unravel it. "I know you want me. So don't keep saying our hands our tied." Lena moves forward with a mix of frustration and confidence as she continues "You claim it's not in the cards and fate is pulling you miles and out of reach from me." Kara finally looks at Lena when she is in front of the beam the ropes were tied to but the blonde quickly walks away. "But you're here in my heart so who can stop me if I decide that you are my destiny?" 

Kara pauses in front of the next beam that she was beginning to untie the ropes from but doesn't speak as Lena continues "What if we rewrite the stars? Say you were made to be mine." Kara was looking at the ceiling and didn't notice Lena walk upright in front of her. "Nothing could keep us apart" Lena steps forward and Kara steps back rope still in hand. 

Kara turns and walks away completely and into the ring to continue the practice Lena interrupted but the raven-haired woman followed after her as she continues "You'd be the one I was meant to find" as Lena catches up and spins Kara to face her so they are nose to nose. "It's up to you and it's up to me. No one can say what we get to be." 

Kara continues avoiding but Lena sticks with her. 

"So why don't we rewrite the stars?" Kara smiles as Lena plays keep-away with the rope "Maybe the world could be ours tonight" 

Kara walks into Lena's personal space leaning in slowly but instead of closing the gap, she used Lena's flustered state to grab the rope and fly into the air. 

Lena tries to follow her but it's dark in the tent and she couldn't see well. 

Kara appears in a ring suspended in the air as she sings "You think it's easy." as she slowly lowers herself. "You think I don't want to run to you" Kara lands and Lena is right there when she does. "But there are mountains and there are doors that we can't walk through." They are face to face with only centimeters between any part of their body. "I know you're wondering why because we're able to be just you and me within these walls but when we go outside you're gonna wake up and see.." Kara spun herself up onto the ring so she was hanging upside down. "That it was hopeless after all..." The ring goes back into the air with Lena holding on by a hand but she drops after a couple of seconds. "No one can rewrite the stars. How can you say you'll be mine. Everything keeps us apart" Kara swings down and hits into Lena sending them rolling on the ground for a couple of seconds before Kara ends up on top with rope still in hand "And I'm not the one we're meant to find" With a hard tug and a slight pause Kara is back flying in the air. Lena desperately tries to find a good grip on the rope but only ends up. "It's not up to you. It's not up to me. When everyone tells us what we can be." Kara spins down in a controlled way before Lena catches her and holds her close. "How can we rewrite the stars? Say that the world can be ours tonight."

Lena joins as they hold hands and sing "All I want is to fly with you" before shooting into the air linked together "All I want is to fall with you. So just give me all of you." 

Kara sings alone "It feels impossible" a couple of times as Lena sings "It's not impossible" 

Before coming together as they spin and sing "Say that it's possible. How do we rewrite the stars?"

"Say you were made to be mine" Lena sings with Kara while giving her major heart eyes. "Nothing can keep us apart. Cause you are the one I was meant to find. It's up to you and it's up to me and no one can say what we get to be. Why don't we rewrite the stars. Changing the world to be ours" They slowly finish as they make their way to the ground chest to chest. 

Booth girls start leaning in but Kara pulls away slightly as she sings "You know I want you. It's not a secret I tried to hide." She steps away fully "But I can't have you. We're bound to break and my hands are tied" Kara looks into Lena's eyes one last time before walking away feeling her chest tighten as she did. 

AN: This is one of my favorite scenes of all time and it is so heart-wrenching. I hope I did it justice
