AN: Some of y'all comments make me laugh so fucking hard

AN pt 2!: This is a fighter pilot AU welcome to adorable chaos. 

Lena's POV

"Venom and Reign you are clear for take-off," the XO says and I flip the final switches and double-check that my air mask is strapped securely to my helmet.  

"You ready Reign?" 

Reign, or Sam her real name, my spotter is seated behind me and says "Whenever you are Venom. Light us up" 

I engage all engines and we take off quickly from the carrier. Today's mission was simply to fly from the middle of the pacific ocean where the SS League to a base in D.C. for a showing of a new generation of jets to the naval and airforce commanders and some other hooty-tooty important people. 

I feel the normal rush of adrenaline hit when we break the sound barrier a couple minutes into our flight. 

"Alrighty Venom we are on track for an hour-long flight clear skies and nothing in our way but good music and clouds" 

"What's the choice for today's flight?" I ask, 

"Hmmm, I am thinking some P!nk with a side of Kelly Clarkson and broadway if we get bored" 

"Sounds good to me"

About 20 minutes later 

Reign finally says something besides terribly singing along to the lyrics of the music playing quietly. 

"Hey Venom something is coming up on our 6 and coming in hot... like real hot" 

I pull up and start flying upside down to see if I can get any sort of eyes on this thing and my eyes widen and I quickly have to fly us straight down because what looks like a tinny unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flying straight for us. 

"Strap in Reign" I right us quickly and follow after the small plane and I hear Reign trying to get in contact with the UAV.

"UAV this is Corporal Arias and Corporal Luthor with the US Armed Forces. Identify yourself or be shot down" 

I turn my radio on and say "This is alfa foxtrot charlie378 we have a UAV in front of us please advice if friendly" 

After a minute the radio crackles to life and says "Alfa foxtrot charlie378 please advise if the UAV is responding to communication?" 

"Nothing yet after multiple attempts," Sam says. 

"Treat as hostile. We had possible reports of foreign spy vehicles surveying. Take it down if it doesn't respond."

"10-4," I say before turning our mic off and saying "Give it two more tries, and then we are sending it to kingdom come." 

After two more tries, no response comes so I say "Alrighty Reign let's go" 

We fly closer to the plane and I prep the missile and get a lock in a couple of seconds. I flick the switch and press the fire button 

"HOLD FIRE! HOLD YOUR FIRE!" 

The missile was already launched and just hit the plane and my eyes widen when I see a body falling out of the sky in the wake of the explosion. 

It was supposed to be unmanned no person could comfortably fly that size plane. 

I immediately turn our radio back on and yell at whoever is on the other end "Too late! We are landing to try and help? What the hell did we just hit??!!!? " as I nose dive to follow the falling body but we were low enough to the ground there was a chance of survival if we can land quickly. It is a tiny chance cause we were still high up. I get us in a good position to land and the crater that body left doesn't get my hopes high.
