Paramedic AU

AN: Hey sorry I haven't posted I still have writer's block and this is gonna be a shorter story but I hope you enjoy it

Lena's POV

Lena is a tomato as she sits on the ground trying not to cry from the pain radiating out of her ankle. 

"911 what's your emergency?" 

"Hi I am in town for a job interview and I just broke my ankle in my hotel room could you please send EMS to come help me" 

"Of course. Where are you right now?" 

"The Mariott hotel on 4th street room 617" 

"Alright EMS is being dispatched they should be there shortly" 

Kara's POV

"Ambulance 732 this is dispatch"

I grab my radio and glance at my partner Yelena as I say "Go ahead dispatch" 

"Mariott hotel on 4th street" Yelena immediately turns on the siren and starts heading in the right direction "30-year-old woman supposed broken ankle." 

"10-4 on our way. 5 minutes out, do you have any sort of room number?" 

"617" 

"10-4" 

We got there faster than expected with Yelena's crazy driving so while she gets the portable gurney I say "Arrived on the scene" and then help her before we jog into the hotel.

The hotel manager was waiting for us and led us to the elevator before passing us a key card and sending us on our way.

We climb the levels quickly and jog out and down to the correct room. Yelena knocks loudly and says "EMS we are coming in!" 

"Yah Yah come on in!" a female voice calls from the other side. 

I use the card and open the door walking further into the room to find beautiful raven-haired woman clutching her ankle on the ground. 

She didn't seem to be in extreme pain so I squat down in front of her and say "Hey there, my name is Kara and this is Yelena we are here to help you out. What seems to be the issue?" 

She chuckles and winces grabbing her ankle again before explaining "I was trying to take off my heels and slipped. I heard a bad crack so I am assuming I broke it but I can't be sure without an X-ray."

"You seem to be handling this surprisingly well," Yelena says while organizing the gurney so we can move her safely onto it. 

The woman nods and says "I am a surgeon, I have seen broken bones and worse every day for the last 15 years" 

"Ah, that explains it" I say as I inspect her ankle. It was already swollen and discolored. I squeeze her toes as I say "You can feel that right?" she nods "Good you still have circulation. But yeah I agree looks broken but can't be sure without an x-ray. Let's get you up on the gurney. Do you think you can stand or do you need help?" 

She winces as she adjusts to try and stand and sits back "Yeah I think I am gonna need some help" 

"Alrighty, do you mind if I just pick you up?" she nods and I stand up before looping one arm behind her back and one under her knees "Let me know if I do anything that hurts you" 

"Alright" I stand and pick her up easily before setting her on the gurney. "Very strong you sure you aren't secretly a superhero?" 

"No ma'am just your everyday paramedic," I say with a chuckle "Maybe in a different life" 

"Well in my opinion you would be a great superhero" 

"Alright, love birds let's get you to the hospital so we can get you all bandaged up" Yelena says with an eye roll before turning to me specifically and saying "And hey the closest hospital is NCH so we can say hi to Alex and Nat they are both on call today." as we push Lena into the hallway and down to the elevator and out to the rig.
