Chess Time

Also on a separate note, I am having WAY too much fun writing my Hercules story! I am getting close to finishing it (and I have been updating regulating so it should be finished pretty soon!) 

Credit: @Womenarepretty DM'ed me this adorable looney tunes video of two characters playing chess and suggested I turned it into a story! Like I said I hope I do it justice.

SORRY ANOTHER REALLY SHORT CHAPTER

3rd Person POV

Lena patiently turned the page of her book as she taps her finger against her chin. 

Kara glares at the board and scratches her head for two seconds as her eyes float from piece to piece trying to find some move that won't end badly. 

Lena glances up and lovingly smiles at Kara for a second before turning her attention back to her book. 

"Do you have any fours?" Kara asks. 

"Kara, honey, we are playing chess."

"Was it Mr. Peacock in the study with the rope?" Kara asks as she rests her elbows on the table. 

Lena's eyebrow's furrow in concern as she looks at her wife "Do you even know how to play chess?"

"Of course I do," Kara says offended before she moves a piece and happily yells "JIN!" 

Lena just rolls her eyes and continues reading.

Lena once again finds herself enjoying her book in between moves in a game of chess against her wife.

Kara moves a piece finally, Lena looks up to survey the board for two seconds before taking Kara's bishop with her castle and declaring "Check" In a calm tone. 

Kara's eyes widen and she quickly says "Look over there" while pointing behind Lena. 

"No," Lena says while turning the page. 

"Just look over there," Kara says with a pout that doesn't work because Lena wasn't looking at her. 

"If I look over there Kara you are going to flip the board around so you are winning, and say it was an earthquake or, something," Lena says in a calm tone.

"No, I won't. I promise. Just look over there." Kara pauses doubling down on the pout "Please" 

Lena finally looks up and sighs before turning to look behind her. 

"EARTHQUAKE" Kara yells as she flips the table sending the chess pieces crashing to the ground. Kara walks away to the couch as she adds "That was a big one."   

Lena rolls her eyes but decides to join her wife on the couch for Disney and cuddles.

Kara confidently moves her knight putting Lena into a position where she is in checkmate in 5 moves. 

Lena raises her eyebrow at Kara before turning her attention to the board. 

She moves her queen to take a piece Kara didn't notice as she says "You are in checkmate in two Kara." She stands up and walks next to Kara and leans in so she is next to her ear as she says "Nice try Loni. You still need to work on your strategies a little more before can beat your Mom." 

Kara pouts as she takes out the tiny earpiece her daughter had been feeding moves to her through as she says "How long did you know?" 

"5 moves into the game. Darling you don't really understand this game" Lena says as she kisses away Kara's pout. 

Kara pauses before pulling Kara into her lap and peppers kisses all over her wife's face. 

 "How many kale salads do I have to eat before you let me beat you?" 

"4"

....

"Okay, we are finding a new game to play on date night." 

"Alright darling whatever you want," Lena says while kissing Kara on the lips softly.
