Table Partners pt2

AN: I am sorry this took so long, I hope you enjoy it!

Kara's POV

I am sitting at my table waiting for class to start. I left the cafeteria to avoid Alex and because the noise got too loud. I was doodling in the journal Eliza got me just below the recurring title I started to use for each entry. 

Day 764 of my stay on this idiotic planet  I hadn't written an entry yet for today so I did so. 

"She would probably scold me for being so negative if she ever saw the titles." I hate to admit it as I write it but Lena is usually included in some way in my entries usually because she told me a dumb dad joke that actually made me laugh. "She isn't here yet which is a bit shocking because she is usually here ten minutes before anyone else. The food in the cafeteria was bland and disgusting but I was starving so I had to eat something." Alright, now I need to include my three positive things "1. Eliza said I can go for a flight tonight if I stay close to the farm 2. My day of classes is almost over 3. I can't think of anything I just want to be going flying already so I can ignore everyone." 

Before I can shut my notebook I hear "Day 764 of my stay on this idiotic planet?" My eyes widen at Lena taking the seat next to me "Odd way to start something." 

"OH WELL-," I am panicking and scrambling to hopefully think of a way to cover for my journal entry. "It's umm- it's the beginning of a chapter for the book I am writing!" I finish trying to convince myself of the bs I just made up as well as Lena. 

"A book?" She questions "I didn't realize you liked writing" 

"I am more of a reader than I writer but I thought hey why not try and write the stories I want to read," I say with a nervous chuckle. 

"Well, whatever you write I want to read if you are comfortable with it" she says as she sets her bag down next to her I put the notebook away in the least suspicious way I could. 

"It's really bad, let me write a bit more and get better before I let you read anything" I explain as our teacher walks in Lena nods her understanding not pushing thankfully. 

"You got any weekend plans?" Lena asks after a minute of silence. 

"Nothing much just going for a-" I catch myself quickly "an adventure. We have this big forest on the property I live on so I was gonna go out and explore it more" I had done just that nearly every night since I arrived on earth cause there was a tree that had a great view of the stars. "How about you?" 

"Nothing much I was gonna actually ask if you wanted to hang out and get started on the midterm for this class" 

"I-" This was the first time someone asked to hang out with me and I was quite literally at a loss for words for a while "I need to ask my- Eliza if it would be okay. I will text her after class and let you know." I already knew the answer would be yes and Eliza would move the heavens and earth to make this hangout go as well as possible. 

"Cool just let me know" 

And just like that I had my first hang out with a friend.

"Your sure that this is okay Eliza? I can cancel still and move it. Or we can go downtown to a coffee shop-" 

"Kara it is perfectly fine. Alex and I are going to go watch a movie and get a fancy dinner together. You have the house all to your self. Lena is also welcome to spend the night if she wants. The guest room is made up already." 

"Okay" I say as Alex walks down the stairs in a nice outfit for the night out on the town. She sends a glare my ways when she sees me looking and I stick my tongue out at her. Eliza ran to grab something from her room so unfortunately Alex is closest to the door when Lena knocks.
