He's been avoiding me. Every time were in the dining hall at the same time he'll just leave without finishing his food. I ran into him once in the training room, where he just scurried out without a passing glance. To say I'm annoyed is an understatement. I understand that I should have told him, I really do, but he won't even give me the chance to apologize.

That's why I'm headed to his apartment right now. He can't ignore me if were locked in a room together. That didn't sound crazy at all. The stone halls pass beside me in a blur as I dash to his room, my feet pounding against the concrete path.

When I reach the door, my hand pounds rapidly against the door, producing a loud pounding noise that reverberates into the back of my head. Muffled footsteps grow louder as Tobias reaches the door, pulling it open. A scowl crosses his face and he goes to shut the door. Before he can, I put my foot in the way, shouldering past him to enter the apartment.

"You aren't going to leave are you?" He sighs. I shake my head happily as I watch him close the door and trudge over to the couch. He follows, his feet slapping against the floor, and sits across from me.

" Go on" I prompt " yell at me."

" You are the most ridiculous person on the face of the earth. Why, when trying to get my memories back, would you leave out massive details like that?" He questions.

" Honestly?" I sigh " I was worried. I was so sure that I was the one to do this with you. I was so sure, but we stopped making progress and I wasn't so sure. I thought... I thought that if those two were around that I wouldn't be the one to do this. I know that's the stupidest thing ever. I know that that was ridiculously selfish of me.

" I'm not really sure why it mattered so much, really. I guess... I just thought that after what Zeke and Shuana and everyone said that it would've made sense. I'm an idiot, huh? If you want we can go back and visit Evelyn."

" I guess I see where you're coming from. But, yeah, I'd like to go and see Evelyn. What about Marcus?" He asks

" Absolutely not" I put my foot down "Ill stretch with Evelyn but there is no way in Hell I will willingly deliver you to Marcus."

" But he's obviously someone who was influential, albeit negatively, but still."

"No" I state

"I'll go myself" he says, his arms crossed over his chest.

" You wouldn't?" I scrutinize him "Yeah, you would. Okay but the first time he try's something I'll break his nose."

" Fair enough" he concedes " let's go"

He shoots from the apartment door so fast I almost fall over, since he throws his arm out and catches my hand, pulling me alongside him as he races towards the train. As we shoot through the hallways, I see my mom talking with Hannah Perdad, laughing and making animated gestures at they catch up. I catch sight of my dad from the corner of my eye, talking to the cook as he stands behind the counter, helping fix meals.

That's the thing about my parents, something that I only see now; their origional factions shine through in different ways. My mother has been blatently dauntless since she arived, going crazy with the recent return to her faction. My father, however, shows none of his erudite tendencies, though he might if he was in his home faction. Though my mother was only duantless for a year before transferring she shows more dauntless-ness than some of the dauntless I've seen before, those who have been here all their lives. My father doesnt show his Erudite side often, unlike my mother, which leads me to beleive that bravery leaves agreater impression than knowlage.
