The excitement of all the technology displays were overwhelming,  standing back in awe of the creations you allow a moment of happiness to flutter through the darkness. Peter and Ned’s enthusiasm however went unmatched, their childlike energy engaging all the guests as they proudly demonstrated their new solo flyer pack.

Hoisting the large contraption onto his back, Peter almost fell over as his small frame was barely able to counterweight the mass. Indicating to everyone to step back, Ned clears an open space, with a click of a button the large steel feathers spread into around 6 foot wings either side of Peter. Hearing the crowd gasp and clap at your friend’s creation, your heart swells with pride as you cheer louder than them all.

‘Woo go Peter!’

Barely waiting for them to descend from the stage you squeeze them both into a tight hug. ‘It looks amazing! You have worked so hard all summer. I’m so proud of you boys!’

Still climbing from their high you all walk towards the bar for some refreshments. Peter practically bouncing across the main hall, 'oh my god Ned! Did you see the look on that guy’s face as we actually made it fly.’

Ned’s voice was higher pitched than usual from the adrenaline, ‘I know right! I didn’t think you would pull it off, but you did!’

Approaching the bar you see Tony’s beloved DUM-E robot behind the bar, you can’t help but stifle a laugh as you all watch it try to place a bottle back on the shelf, after successfully making a drink, only to shatter the glass shelf sending a series of chimes ringing through the hall as all the bottles shattered against the floor one by one. You sheepishly look back at the boy’s before rushing off, ‘I should erm.. go see to that.’

Straightening your tie before dusting the shoulders of your jacket off Steve grips at your biceps. ‘Sure you want to do this buddy?’

Your mouth suddenly dry, you rub your hand along your jawline, the freshly trimmed stubble scraping against your palm. ‘Never been more sure in my life.’ Taking a sip from your glass of water, you wanted to be sober this evening. Sweeping the hair from your face as you run your hand through it, you take a deep breath.

With a firm pat on your shoulder Steve ignites the confidence boost you desperately needed.

Your eyes scan every face at the expedition searching for the emerald sparkle that calls to you. Pausing, you spot Beatrix’s dainty frame across the room. Taking a moment, you observe her movements, letting a small smile peep behind your lips as you bite down on them with nerves. Her smile lights your soul, the way she tilts her head back slightly as she laughs. The way she twirls the curls of her hair between her fingertips, gliding as it danced across her supple skin.

She is beautiful inside and out.
