Curled up on James lap, his warm arms a blanket around you as you as you lose yourself in the gaze of his jewelled steel blue eyes. ‘Do we really have to go back?’ you wanted to selfishly stay here forever, uninterrupted and keep him all to yourself.

Stoking the stray hairs from your face, you could see the longing to stay in his eyes too as he squeezed you closer to him. At the thought of business James always unconsciously moves into a formal tone, you have always found this amusing, ‘I’m afraid so, Chris has been helping to oversee the business but Tony is unable to spare him much longer. I need to ensure everything is all aligned for the business trip at the end of the month.’

‘End of the month?’ sitting back puzzled and in shock. Was it October already. How long had you been in Paris? It only felt like two seconds not 3 weeks. ‘You will be back for the Halloween party at Jade’s though right? We had planned on stopping by the parade. Being my first Halloween in the Big Apple we can’t miss it, plus it’s a great opportunity to build my contacts and hopefully get involved next year.’ crawling up his chest, your hands gliding over his cheeks and entangling his thick dark hair between your fingers.

Seeing the smile creep over James, you know how he loves hearing your passion for work, he likes to sit watching as your head explodes with creative ideas. Fluttering your eyelashes, ‘We still need to pick out a costume.’

James face was unimpressed at the notion of wearing a costume. Tilting your head to playfully scowl as you spot the mischief in his eyes. Pulling your body in closer to his, biting the edges of his lip in lustful anticipation. ‘I’m all for you dressing up doll.’

James buries his head into your neck, gently nipping at your skin as he lets out a frustrated growl. Rolling his eyes as he was forced to stop, he turns the alarm off from his phone and throws his head back. ‘C’mon or we will miss the flight.’ Hopping on to his feet, placing you onto yours as he heads towards the packed bags at the doorway.

‘It’s your plane. How can you be late for it.’ You laugh as you follow after him reluctantly throwing your hands into the air before letting them dramatically flop by your sides.

The flight home was quick, you had spent most of the journey curled on the large armchairs reading or listening to music as you marvelled at the view from the large windows. The sun was shining high above the New York skylines as you whizzed down the city streets in James’ car but all you could think of was crawling into the comfort of your bed.

Placing your hand over his resting in its home of your lap, his cool fingers firmly gripped at your thigh, the beams of light bursting between the buildings occasionally catching the diamonds of your ring, watching as it casts a spell across the interior of the car with its reflection you smile.

The car came to a slow stop as you pulled into the familiar walls of the underground garage. With a low raspy voice, clearly feeling the effects of the jetlag too, Bucky leans in to kiss your cheek. ‘We’re home.’
