Chapter 37: A Breath of Fresh Air

A/N: Hi guys! I know I haven't been active since MAY and I am SO SO SORRY, I recently found myself rediving into my harry potter phase (it never really left) and I remembered this fanfiction that I have yet to finish, i'm going to be wrapping it up in the next few chapters, but don't worry! I'm going to be writing a new story! It'll be an enemies to lovers story with none other than Fred Weasley! I'm going to be talking about it more in the next few chapters but for now please enjoy this next chapter my loves <33

Professor Dumbledore decided that it was best to take off a week from school considering all of the scared and nervous kids having trouble doing work and such. I personally thought this was a great idea and it would give everyone time to breathe.

With the new week of freedom me and Cedric thought it best to take advantage of this and go on a date to the three broomsticks, and I couldn't be more happy. "Morning beautiful" Cedric said coming into my dorm while I was still getting ready, I giggled "Morning Ced" I responded while putting on my shoes "Ready for our date m'lady?" Cedric teased and bowed. I again giggled "Yes I am mister" I said standing up right and walking over Cedric to take his hand.

We made our way out of the Hufflepuff house and before we knew it we were nearly to Hogsmeade. We had small talk on the way there about how we slept and what we dreamt about, nothing groundbreaking.

The weather outside was beautiful, I could smell Summer just around the corner. We arrived at the three broomsticks and Cedric sped up ahead of me to hold the door for me, he looked as handsome as ever and gave me a cheeky smile, the boy knew how to make me smile. Cedric followed me in and we headed for a nice booth in the back, away from everyone else.

I scooched into the booth and Cedric came from the other side sitting right next to me "Well this is cozy" Cedric whispered in my ear "mm right it is" I whispered back playing along. Under the table Cedric took my hand into his just when a worker came up to us requesting what we'd like "Hey kiddos, what can I get for the two of you?" the lady asked "Just two butterbeers would be great" Cedric responded to her. "Alright those will be out shortly!" The lady said as she turned and walked away to place our orders.

We both got to talking "Y'know I'm really happy Draco found someone for him" Cedric said "Yeah me too, it's good to have him back as a friend, the way it should be" I responded "Yeah now I don't have to hate him, and now maybe me and him could be good friends as well!" Cedric said cheerfully.

We talked some more before our butterbeers arrived. "Alright here you are" the lady said as she placed our drinks on the table "Can I get you two anything else?" she asked, Cedric looked at me to see if I wanted anything and I shook my head, he looked back at the nice worker "No I think we are good for now, thank you!" Cedric responded, the lady smiled and took off to help other customers.

Cedric took a sip of his drink before turning back to me to continue our conversation "It's crazy how much has changed this year" Cedric said wiping his mouth of the foam from the drink "Yeah it really has but honestly I couldn't be happier with the way everything has turned out" I responded, "It's weird to think of the way it all started and to where we are now, we've all changed so much" I added "Yeah it's crazy how much can change in just a few months, I feel like the year flew by so fast."

We talked some more about our year and how we were glad to still be in one piece and to still be with one another while we drank out butterbeer. I picked up my glass once more to finish the last sip when I spoke up again "I have a question for you love" I asked Cedric "Hm and what is that?" Cedric replied "Well I've always wanted to know, what were your thoughts when you first saw me at the beginning of the year?" I asked, Cedric smiled at my question and kind of blushed.

"Well that's a fun question isn't it?" Cedric laughed, "Well um, honestly I thought you were beautiful, and I also thought it was cute you were checking me out" Cedric said teasing "But all that aside, I immediately knew that I wanted to get to know you, you seemed genuine and like the best thing that could happen to me" Cedric smiled "And you are..." he finished.

This made me blush scarlet, I looked up at him to hold eye contact, we were both softly smiling "I love you ced" I spoke, he smiled bigger now "I love you too y/n/n"

We finished our drinks and left our pay on the table along with a tip for the waitress, we made our way out of the three broomsticks and decided we just wanted to head back to hogwarts. On our way into the school we ran into Draco holding hands with Briella "Hey strangers" Draco said to the two of us "Hi Draco" both me and Cedric said simultaneously "Oh how rude of me not to introduce myself, Hi im y/n and this is my boyfriend Cedric" I said to Briella motioning to Cedric and holding out my hand to shake with hers, as did Cedric.

"Hi! I'm Briella!" she said taking my hand and giving it a nice shake and then doing the same with Cedric, she returned to holding hands with Draco, she seemed like the sweetest person. She had a very warm and welcoming aura and the kindest voice, she'd definitely be a good influence on Draco.

The four of us got to talking about all kinds of things from how we all met one another and how we were happy for each other and such, we even eventually brought up going on a double date together which sounded amazing. "Yeah that'd be beyond fun to go on a double date, speaking of me and Ced just got back from the three broomsticks" I mentioned "Oh what a coincidence, me and Briella were just going to head down there now" Draco responded.

"Oh really! That's wonderful. I hope you two enjoy yourselves!" I said to the two of them "Yeah hope you guys have fun!" Cedric added "Oh we will" Briella said which we all laughed to "Well I don't want to keep you guys from your date we should really get going" Cedric said "Yeah of course! Us too, and it was really nice to meet you two!" Briella responded "Couldn't agree more" I responded "See you guys around, and i'd love to take you two up on that double date offer '' Draco added while slowly walking away.

"Yes we'll definitely talk more into that" I responded. We all went our separate ways, me and Cedric headed to the Hufflepuff house arm in arm. "She seems really nice" I said as we made it to the stairs towards the common room "Yeah she does, and Draco seems really happy" Cedric responded "Yeah she seems good for him" I added. "But enough about them hm" Cedric said as he leaned down to give a kiss on my cheek.

A while later me and Cedric were in the common room laying down on the couch together "Well this couch has some memories" Cedric spoke to which made me all flustered and let out a laugh "Yes it sure does" I replied "But good memories" I added turning my body to face Cedric "Oh yes they sure are good ones" Cedric teased and leaned in to kiss me.

I happily kissed him back, we pulled away and we both slowly drifted off to sleep.
