Chapter 21: The Discovery

After the announcement of the triwizard tournament the school was nothing but gossip and talk, with the new students who came to the school and who would be going into the tournament. You and Draco had a lot to talk about it, both of you were over the age of 17 and were debating on if either one of you would enter.

Love Potion y/n POV:

"Well how do you feel about joining Draco" you asked Draco "Well I don't really feel like it, i'd rather watch people participate" he responded "Well I've been thinking about it a lot and I think I wanna join" you said to Draco.

He was taken back out of surprise "B-but I don't want to see you get hurt y/n" he said with worry in his eyes. "Oh I'm a big girl I think I can handle myself, I'll be fine." you said putting a comforting hand on his shoulder. He locked eyes with yours and gave you a both worried but comforting gaze.

You began to repeat yourself "I'll be fine Draco" with that Draco leaned in to kiss you. The gap between you both had closed, his lips were soft and gentle when he kissed you, you could tell he really cared. You both pulled apart and turned to hug one another.

"I'll support whatever your decision is, but I just want you to be careful." he said while embraced in your arms. "Thank you Draco, and I will" you responded "That's all I want to hear."

It was the next day and you were in your second period herbology, you didn't have this class shared with anyone, it was just you. You spent a good majority of the class daydreaming and thinking about the tournament.

When class was dismissed you had a free period, you decided to use this time to go to the great hall where the goblet of fire was. You planned to put your name into it. When you entered the hall it was packed with students, including Cedric. Everyone was chattering away.

Except when you walked past Cedric who was with his group of friends, Cedric watched you walk in and didn't take his eyes off of you. You grew uncomfortable and were desperately looking for someone you knew, that's when you saw Hermione sitting down with a book.

You immediately sped walked over to her and took a seat next to her. The sudden presence must have startled her and made her jolt. She looked over to you "Oh hello y/n! It's been a minute hasn't it?" she said looking at you "Hey Hermione, and yes it sure has" you responded.

"So how is the recent boy drama with Cedric and Draco going?" she asked. You gave her a confused face "There's no drama with Cedric? Aside from him constantly staring at me for no reason." Hermione raised an eyebrow and looked beyond confused "What do you mean there wasn't any drama? The last time we talked you told me about all the stuff that has happened with him." Hermione said concerned and still confused.

"You must be going mad mione, I haven't had any drama with Cedric whatsoever." Hermione stared at you wide eyed before she noticed something. Your eyes were extremely dilated and were slightly pink. She started to move in closer to get a better look when Cedric's friends were pushing him into the age line to put his name into the goblet.

The room went silent as we all watched him put it in. Once he did so the twins George and Fred Weasley came bustling through "HEH HEH YESSS!" they said in unison as they ran into the great hall. Everyone started clapping for them as they stepped up to the benches you and Hermione were sitting on.

Everyone was high fiving them and the twins were talking about some potion they made. "Thank you, thank you" they said "Well lads, we did it" Fred said "Cooked it up just this morning" George said. When Hermione spoke up "It's not going to workk"

They both looked at eachother and back at Hermione when they came on either side of her "Oh yeah and why's that Granger?" George said, Hermione started to explain to them why it wouldn't work. They both went on to do it anyway and failed miserably, turning into old men rather than putting their name in the goblet.

They both began fighting each other when the room went silent as Viktor Krum came in and placed his name into the goblet, he gave Hermione a look before leaving. Hermione blushed as he left. "Well what was thatttt?" you said teasing her.

She rolled her eyes "It's nothing" she said smiling "mhmm" you said teasing again. "Well I must be going. I have some things to do" Hermione said as she got up. "It was nice to see you again y/n" she said. "Oh alright mione, see you around" you responded.

Hermione's POV:

The thing was Hermione didn't actually have to go. Hermione had noticed prior to everything that y/n had been really close to Cedric for a while and were even dating. But then all of a sudden she has never had anything going on with him? And just dropped Cedric to be with Draco?

And those eyes, they weren't normal, no one's pupils were that large, and certainly no one's eyes were pink. Something was wrong and it seemed that y/n had been under the influence of something. Hermione said that she had to go so that she could tell Cedric what she had just witnessed.

Cedric's POV:

"CEDRIC! CEDRIC!" Hermione called out to me sounding worried, I abruptly turned around  "What what, what is it??" I asked now worried too. Hermione ran up to me panting as she tried to catch her breath. "I-It's y/n" Hermione said between breaths.

I was taken back at hearing her name "What about y/n? What's wrong?" I said now worried "Something's wrong, you see she came to me a few weeks ago and was telling me everything that had been going on between you, her, and Draco." she paused

"And when I went on to ask how it had all been going she said that she never even had anything going on with you. It was like you were a stranger to her" Hermione said. Cedric's eyes went wide, he was about to speak again when mione went on "Wait wait, there's more" she paused

"When she was talking to me i noticed her eyes were extremely dilated and very pink" she let Cedric take it all in before continuing "I believe y/n is under the influence of something, but I don't know what yet." Hermione finished.

"Wait so you mean to tell me that she's drugged as we speak?? Who would want her to forget m-" Cedric stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes went wide and his expression then turned angry "Malfoy" he said.

The whole rest of the night Hermione and Cedric had gone through every spell in the book trying to figure out what spell y/n was put under. After hours upon hours on end of research they found it.

"Look this fits so well" Hermione said as she started to describe what this spell does. "Pink and dilated eyes, memory loss, an instant attraction to the maker" she went on. "Well what is it, what's the spell?" Cedric asked, "It was a love potion, Draco drugged y/n into a love potion" Hermione said.

Cedric's eyes grew dark at her words "I'm going to kill that son of a bi-" Hermione cut him off  "You will have plenty of time for the later Ced, but as of right now we need to find a way to cure y/n of this."

Cedric was struggling to hold back anger "Your right, but how?" Cedric asked. "It's going to take me a little while to figure out a cure, but for now what I need you to do is keep y/n from seeing Draco as best as you can." she paused taking in a deep breath "B-because the more she is around him, the stronger the love gets, and it'll be almost impossible to get her out of it." Hermione finished bracing herself for Cedric's reaction.

His response to it wasn't angry, but worried, scared, and sad. He looked to the floor "I will do my best" and with that Cedric left to find y/n.
