Chapter 20: The Triwizard Tournament

Love Potion y/n POV:

You woke up to the sound of noisy chatter from the fellow girls in your dormitory. You weren't completely aware of your surrounding until you slowly opened your eyes *whoa how did I get back here?* you thought to yourself.

You turned on your side to see a note and a bouquet of sunflowers on your bedside table. You sat up in your bed picking it up and beginning to read.

Morning darling,

We had a pretty fun night huh? Well after our little make out when we were cuddling, you had fallen asleep, so I carried you over here to the girls dormitory. I figured you'd much rather wake up somewhere familiar then over here. I hope you like the flowers. I didn't know what one you liked so I gave you my favorite. Well I'll see you down in the great hall darling.

Your heart skipped a beat at the note and flowers. You picked one up and brought it to your nose, it smelled sweet and refreshing. You could tell they were freshly picked and the thought only made you get butterflies.

Without another thought you threw yourself out of bed and quickly got dressed in your uniform and robes. You did your hair in a low messy bun and grabbed your wand and books. You headed out the door about the same time as the other girls and made your way into the common room.

When you reached the end of the stairs you saw Cedric, he must have been waiting to see you appear because his eyes fell directly on you. He had a look of hurt in his eyes and you didn't quite know why.

After a moment of him staring at you he returned to talking to his friends. But you and the fellow girls had left the common room towards the great hall for breakfast. As you all descended the stairs you could hear loud footsteps trailing close behind you.

It was Cedric, he was keeping his distance but you could feel his eyes staring at you. His stare was intimidating enough to kill someone if they made eye contact. You were so confused at his behavior. From last night until now you didn't know why he was acting this way.

Eventually, you all arrived through the entrance of the great hall. You were about to sit down when you saw Draco smiling gleefully at you and waving towards you to come sit with him, you couldn't bear another second of Cedric's glares towards you so you ran right over to Draco.

"Hi darling!" Draco said standing up to give you a hug, his soft lips placed a kiss on your cheek as he took you into a hug. "Did you sleep well last night?" he asked, pulling out of the hug. "Yes I did, thank you for the flowers by the way, they are lovely." you responded.

"I knew you'd like em" He said, taking hold of your hand and guiding you to sit down. "Here you are darling" he said, handing you a plate of food. "Thank you Draco," you said, starting to blush.

You began to dig into some hot pancakes with maple syrup when you felt Draco's hand snake onto your thigh. You inhaled sharply at the sudden contact and turned to look at Draco, he hadn't even been phased; he was still talking cheerfully with his friends, it was like it was totally normal.

You smiled to yourself and continued eating your pancakes. You were in utter bliss, with the sound of all your fellow peers talking, the delicious food, and Draco, nothing could be better than this.

~the end of the day~

You had just finished your last class of the day and it was time to return to the great hall for dinner. You decided to sit with Draco again to try and avoid the death stares from Cedric.

You went to sit with him and his friends and they all greeted you kindly. Draco had once again dished you a plate and handed it to you. "Here you are, doll" he said, handing you the plate. Once you took the plate Draco whispered in your ear "I can't tell you how much i've missed you today darling" as he said that his hand went to your thigh just like this morning.

Except this time it wasn't so innocent, he began squeezing your thigh and he nibbled on your ear, when all of a sudden Dumbledore's voice startled the two of you. "I'd like to make an announcement!" he paused waiting for the great hall to calm down, "This castle will no longer be your home this year, but home to some very special guests as well" he paused as Professor Filch started running awkwardly up towards him.

"You see hogwarts has been chosen-" he was cut off by Filch who whispered something to him before running back down to the exit " - So Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event, The Triwizard Tournament!" everyone in the great hall started to whisper things to each other here and there.

"Now for those of you who do not know, the triwizard tournament brings together 3 schools for a series of magical contests...." Dumbledore went on telling everyone about the tournament when I looked over to see Cedric.

He had an intrigued look on his face and all of his friends were nudging him and hyping him up, you assumed they were telling him to join it. You started to tune in again when the two doors to the great hall swung open.

A group of beautiful girls in all baby blue came running in, they sure caught the attention of many of the boys but not Draco, he continued to eat his breakfast and not pay them any attention.

As the girls ran in more they curtsied while gesturing to their right, they continued at a run before curtseying once again but to their left this time. Followed right behind them was their headmistress, she was a very tall and beautiful woman. These girls were to be known as the beauxbatons.

After their magical introduction the great hall burst into applause and whistling. Dumbledore soon silenced the crowd "And now our friends from the north, please greet the proud sons of Durmstrang! And their high master Igor Karkaroff" Dumbledore announced.

Everyone turned to look at the entrance once more when a group of boys came in banging staphs on the concrete floor, they were all in sync and sparks were flying from the staphs.

All of the boys were very intimidating and they all broke into a sprint towards the end of the great hall, they all began doing all kinds of tricks and flips, when their headmaster and quidditch champion Victor Krum came in just after them.

Igor greeted Dumbledore and all the new students and their headmasters made themselves comfortable at their tables. Dumbledore then got up to go on with the rest of his announcement, "Your attention please!" his voice boomed "I'd like to say a few words" he paused "Eternal glory, that is what awaits the student who wins the triwizard tournament-"

"-But to do this the student must survive 3 tasks, 3 extremely dangerous tasks-" he went on when the roof of the great hall began to rumble and produce lightning as if it was a storm, the great hall screamed when a flash from a wand struck the roof.

Everyone looked as to whom the spark came from, and it was none other than Mad Eye Moody, he waddled in with his staph and greeted Dumbledore. Everyone was quietly observing mad eye when Bartemius Crouch broke the silence.

"After due consideration, the ministry has concluded that for their own safety no student under the age of seventeen shall be allowed to put forth their name ----" the crowd started to break into a fit of booing and yelling specifically coming from The twins George and Fred Weasley.

Dumbledore broke out and silenced the crowd "SILENCEE!" he took out his wand and standing beside him he revealed the goblet of fire that ignited into a blue flame. "The Goblet of Fire! Anyone wishing to submit themselves into the tournament may merely write their name onto a piece of parchment and throw it into the flame before this hour on Thursday night"

Everyone stared at the goblet in awe and admiration, especially Cedric. Dumbledore went on "But do not do so lightly, if chosen there's not turning back, as from this moment, the triwizard tournament has begun." he finished.

Everyone stared at the flame for another minute or two before returning to their meals. Something about the tournament didn't sit right with you for some reason. You continued to finish your food, locking eyes with Cedric from across the hall.
