Chapter 16: Quidditch Practice

~It was two weeks later~

It had been two weeks later and all was well, quidditch tryouts were starting soon and you and Cedric wanted to try out for the team. You had been pretty close to Oliver Wood and he was constantly pressuring you to try out for the team because of how much ambition you had.

*You and Oliver Wood have been pretty close for a long time*

Because you had been constantly reminded of quidditch you didn't want to go into it alone so you started teasing Cedric into going into it too, he gave in eventually. You and Cedric began practicing just about every day before tryouts.

It was another cozy fall morning and Cedric was waiting for you in the common room as usual. "Morning darling!" he said as you came down the stairs joining him in the common room "Hi love!" you said in return. "Ready for breakfast?" he asked "But of course" you said in return as you walked towards him.

He took your hand in his and you both went down to the great hall for some breakfast.

As you both made your way to your seats by Cedric's friends you saw Draco waving towards you, you waved back with a smile. "Sit down darling," Cedric said, raising hand for you to take hold of. You took hold of his hand and sat down.

"Here you are," he said, handing you a plate filled with all kinds of breakfast food. You always enjoyed the meals that Hogwarts served, it never failed to disappoint you, even  the simple breakfast was filled with extravagant meats and pastries.

You took hold of the plate and began to dig in. You and Cedric scarfed down your breakfast with the occasional glance and giggle at each other. When you were both done eating you headed down to the quidditch field to practice.

When you both got there you both unironically saw Draco and his friends Crabbe and Goyle, talking to one another while holding brooms. You and Cedric shared a look with each other and walked up to them.

"Hey guys, what are ya doing here?" you asked politely, Draco turned around and instantly lit up, he was kind of like a Christmas tree, "y/n!" he said as he smothered you with a hug "Oh! hey Draco" you said surprised. "So what are you doing here?" you asked.

"Oh we are all going to try out for the Slytherin team" he said pulling away from the hug, "Oh really?!" you said excitedly "So are we!" you said as you grabbed hold of Cedric's hand, raising it in the air. "That's so great! Maybe we could go against each other" he said with a wink, you instantly saw Cedric grow jealous.

"Yeah we most likely will, that is if we make it on the team." you said in a snarky yet sarcastic tone "Oh I know I will, but i'm not too sure about you and Ced over here." he said returning the same energy. You saw Cedric tense up even more as he bit his tongue.

"Oh shut it Malfoy" you said laughing and you nudged his shoulder. Cedric's face was beat red as if he was about to erupt like a volcano. You quickly took hold of his hand and gave it a light squeeze, letting him know that it was ok.

His beat red face quickly faded to a light pink, "Well wanna practice together?" He asked the two of you. "That'd be great!" you said "Sure" Cedric said in a passive aggressive voice. "Alright let's get to it then"

It had been a couple of hours of practice and you and Cedric were exhausted. You all descended from your broomsticks and headed off the field. Cedric came up behind you and wrapped his arm around you "Ew you're all sweatyyy" you said giggling and trying to pull away. "You think that's sweaty?" he said cawking an eyebrow "Oh no" you said out loud.

Without hesitation he started rubbing his soaking wet hair onto you and your face "AGH!" you said giggling and trying to get away. "Oh no you don't" he said grabbing your waist and pulling you into him "Agh! Get off of meee!" you said covering your face and still trying to squirm away.

He moved his hands from your waist to your face, and he tucked a piece of your hair behind your ear as he then brushed your cheek. You immediately stopped squirming and everything just felt like it was going in slow motion.

You looked him in the eyes, time felt as though it stopped, he then leaned in, you both melted into the kiss. He pulled you in closer and you both continued to kiss, "Get a rooooom!" Crabbe said laughing, You saw a look of complete and utter jealously and disgust on Draco's face, he looked so hurt and mad at the same time, when he was about to say something Goyle quickly nudged him in his side and shook his head no.

You both quickly pulled away and you shared a nervous laugh together. "We both definitely need to get in a bath" he said laughing "You don't say?" you said laughing in return. You both shared a little peck and held hands as you walked the rest off the field.
