Chapter 28: The Cure

Cedric POV:

I woke up feeling dizzy, last night seemed like a fever dream. The events of last night hardly registered in my mind except for the almost kiss with y/n. I can't help but feel that it would've happened if it weren't for that damned love potion.

I got dressed hastily and headed out into the common room. I tried to look around for y/n but soon realized that it may be a tid bit awkward if I did so I ended up just going to the great hall for the usual morning breakfast.

When I got down there I walked past the other house tables to get to mine. I searched for an empty seat and soon found one, I took a seat on the bench. I was about to dish my plate when out of the corner of my eye I saw something waving.

I looked up and my eyes were met with Hermione's, she was frantically signalling me to come over. Out of concern I jumped out of my seat and jogged my way over to the gryffindor table. I was face to face with Hermione who seemed flushed.

She grabbed my shoulder and pulled me down to her height, she then leaned into my ear and spoke "I finished the cure" my eyes shot open, a course of adrenaline rushed through my body, I could almost feel my blood pumping at how excited and scared I became.

"You serious??" I asked with fear and excitement in my face. "Yes!" she said, returning the same energy that I had. She leaned back into my ear to whisper something else "Now all we gotta do is figure out a way to give it to her" the excitement quickly faded at her words

"Agh, your right" I said in response "We can talk about it more during the free period, but I just couldn't hold it in any longer and had to tell you." she said with an excited smile. "Well I'm glad you did, you just made my whole day!" I replied. "That's exactly what I wanted to hear, okay now run along i'll see you later!" she said with a smile as she playfully shooed me away.

I walked away from the gryffindor table with a pep in my step, I was so excited for what was to come, I could finally have my y/n/n back.

My classes for the day felt like they lasted eternity, I watched the clock like a hawk just waiting till free period. Finally I had finished my class before my free period. The second I left the room I started sprinting to the great hall to meet Hermione.

When I entered she wasn't alone....

Hermione was seated directly across from...Malfoy?

I felt all my pent up aggression towards him instantly get triggered. What was that ferret getting at now, I could finally get my girlfriend back and here he was ready to mess it all up again.

As I continued to watch them have a conversation, Mione didn't seem at all angry but in fact, she was crying?

The anger inside of me multiplied, how dare he make Hermione cry that bastard. I had enough of watching him and I stormed down the great hall to their table. I stopped dead in my tracks making sure they knew I was there.

Hermione turned around to look up at me, at first I was expecting some kind of retaliation from Draco but he smiled at me...

As did Hermione, "Oh hi Cedric" Hermione said with a smile. I was beyond confused at all the mixed emotions that I was getting, "Please, sit" Hermione said to me. Draco gave me a comforting smile of reassurance.

Neither me or Draco said a word but Hermione continued "Draco had just finished telling me something important" she said turning her direction towards Draco, he didn't catch on just yet until Hermione cleared her throat.

"Oh! Yes, I do have something to tell you, it's about y/n..." he paused. My demeanor grew mean and angry and I began to speak "Oh? About y/n? Like we don't know what you've done you filthy little son of a bi-" "CEDRIC!" Hermione exclaimed, cutting me off.
