Chapter 26: The First Task #2

It was the day of the first task for the triwizard tournament. The school was wild and full of school spirit. You had gotten up extra early so you could cheer on Cedric and the other champions, but mostly Cedric.

Love Potion y/n POV:

The hallways were packed with all of the students heading to watch the first task. You were desperately trying to find Hermione so you'd at least have someone to sit with. But to your luck you couldn't find her, you couldn't even find Draco with all of the crowd, so without wasting any more time you decided to just head down to the pitch without them.

When you arrived there all of the students were seated and desperately awaiting for the task to start, out of the corner of your eye you saw a fiery red haired boy, Ron. You were glad to find someone that you knew so you sped walked your way to him.

You and Ron never talked much but you still of each other via Hermione. "Hi Ron!" you said as you approached him. He looked a little worried but gave you a great big smile "Oh hi y/n! Hermione was asking for you earlier." he said "Oh that's funny I was too! Do you know where she is right now by any chance?" I asked "Yeah I think she went to wish Harry good luck," ~the little git~" he said the last part under his breath.

You let out a little laugh when you spoke "What did he do?" you said "Oh you heard that?" he sighed "Well i'm mad at him right now cause I think he went behind my back to put his name in the goblet." he admitted, you weren't quite sure how to respond so you just said "Oh, i'm sorry Ron."

"Don't worry about it, it's fine" he responded with another sigh. "Well do you mind if I sit?" I asked "Oh no not at all!" you smiled and sat next to him. You both started a bit of small talk about the tournament and who you guys think would win etc etc, when you saw Hermione scooting past everyone to come sit with you guys.

When she came by she sat right next to Ron and you saw him blush scarlet. "Hey y/n! I was looking for you this morning!" she said sweetly. "Yeah I heard, I was looking for you too funny enough!" you said returning the same energy. Ron started blushing more when Hermione was leaning across him to speak to me.

His face was almost as red as his hair at this point, "So mione how was Harry, is he doing ok?" I asked "Yeah he's fine, I was just worried about him, I really hope he'll be okay" she said with a bit of worry in her voice. "Yeah I hope he does well too" I agreed.

Like on cue the crowd started cheering for the first champion, Cedric Diggory. The audience was shouting "DIGGORY, DIGGORY, DIGGORY!" so you chimed in too. He looked very brave but also a little scared as he walked out. You felt a pit in your stomach, afraid of what was to happen.

And with that Cedric sprang into action against the Swedish Short Snout, He directed his wand to a rock and used the transfiguration curse on it. The rock started morphing into a dog. The dog distracted the dragon which gave Cedric a chance to get near the egg. But he was only partially successful.

The dragon took the bait of the dog and chased it around. Cedric jumped and maneuvered his way around the many rocks before grabbing the egg. You jumped out of your seat and yelled to cheer him on "WOOO GO CEDRIC!!" he must have heard you cause a great big smile appeared on his face.

The face quickly disappeared when the dragon had gotten bored of the dog and had drawn its attention back to Cedric. Cedric was quick to think and pointed his wand at the beast shouting the conjunctivitis curse. The dragon went blind and Cedric sprinted his way back to safety.

You were overjoyed at his success and continued to clap and cheer. The following champions, Fleur Delcor and Viktor Krum. They also both successfully got their egg. Fleur enchanted her dragon to sleep, and Viktor also used the conjunctivitis curse to blind his dragon.
