Chapter 3

"Good morning, Felicity!" Masiglang bati ni Dein kinaumagahan pag-upo niya sa tabi ko.

I smiled at her and nodded my head as a response. Pinakatitigan naman ako nito at nawala ang magagandang ngiti sa labi. Her forehead creased in so much confusion.

"Did you cry last night? Your eyes are kinda puffy!"

Shit, halata ba? But I tried to conceal it using my unused concealer earlier! O baka naman ay masyado lang siyang mapagmasid kaya ganoon?

"Hindi naman, Dein...normal lang 'yan sa mata ko." She doesn't looked convinced though but still nodded her head, not trying to push the topic.

Lihim ko naman iyong ipinagpasalamat dahil sa totoo lang ay hindi ko kayang mag-kwento pagdating sa estado ng pamilya ko. I just...can't. 

Maybe some people thought that I had a good and complete family. But they were all wrong. Mas gugustuhin ko pang maging incomplete ang pamilya ko kaysa sa ganitong set-up. I don't feel happy at all. I'm just a great pretender.

How ironic it is to think that my name Felicity means happiness when I don't feel like it at all.

Hindi nagtagal ay nagsimula na ang klase namin para sa araw na iyon. Hindi ako makapag-pokus ng maayos at tila ba nililipad ang isipan ko buong maghapon. Kung hindi pa nga siguro ako kinalabit ni Dein ay hindi ko malalamang tapos na ang klase namin.

"Sigurado ka bang ayos ka lang?" I could sense the worry in her voice. I nodded my head and forced myself to smile. Ayokong pag-alalahanin pa siya.

"Ayos lang talaga ako. H'wag kang mag-alala."

"Pero kung meron kang problema...I'm just here for you, okay?" She flashed a genuine smile that made my heart clenched.

"Yes, thank you, Dein."

Nang maayos ang mga gamit ay sabay na kaming lumabas. It's just two o'clock in the afternoon. Maagang natapos ang buong klase namin dahil may faculty meeting ang mga guro. Lumabas na kami ng classroom ni Dein pagkatapos.

"Susunduin ka na ba ng driver niyo?" Tanong ko sa kan'ya habang sabay kaming naglalakad sa corridor ng eskwelahan. She shook her head.

"Hindi. Actually, I already texted Fort na tapos na ang klase natin so...we're going to the mall!" She exclaimed, excitedly.

"What are we going to do there?"

"To shop, of course! We're going to play also. That would be really fun! Let's go!" Mabilis niya akong hinila sa palapulsuhan palabas ng eskwelahan at nagtungo sa waiting shed.

We're just standing there when a silver car pulled over in front of us. Nang bumaba ang bintana nito ay nakilala ko kaagad ang driver. It was Agamemnon.

"Hey, girls. Need a ride?" Ngumisi ito na tila ba nang-aasar pa. I can't help but to roll my eyes while looking at him. He's really mapang-asar, I could say that. He has this playful aura around him.

"Fort, tamang-tama ang dating mo!" Nagmadaling lumapit si Dein sa kotse habang hila-hila parin ang palapulsuhan ko. Nagpatianod lang ako sa kan'ya. "Felicity and I are going to the mall. Can you drop us off there?"

Agamemnon smiled. "Of course, Dein. Hindi ko lang din naman kayo basta ihahatid. I can also be your chaperon!" He looked so damn proud, too.

Chaperon, huh?

"Really?" Tumaas ang kilay ko. I was just actually testing him if he's really serious about it but I didn't expect what he did next.

Lumabas ito ng kan'yang sasakyan at pinagbuksan ako ng pintuan sa backseat na siyang ikinagulat ko. He even bowed down his head lightly as if I'm some sort of a royalty!
