I glanced at Armin's house right after I went out the taxi. There's no sign that he came home from last night since he left the motel. It's not that I am expecting him, either way. It's better to leave this way.
I sighed sharply and entered the house. I was surprised when I saw Eren waiting in the couch. I was thinking he'd be at work today. I just came here to get my stuffs but this works well.
"Y/N."
He stood up, approaching me as he wrapped his hands on my waist for a hug. This is the first time we talked since the night we fought.
"I was worried. You didn't came home last night. Where were you? Are you with Sasha? You were not with Historia--" He stiffened when he realized he was being worried. "I mean, it's alright. You're here now. Have you had breakfast?"
I ignored his worries and handed him the small brown envelope that I was holding. Eren slowly glanced at the envelope. He hesitantly lifted his hands and accepted it. His lips formed a small sad smile as he opened the envelope and read what's on the paper.
"So.." Eren sighed and turned around from me. "You're really serious about it." He mumbled. He took a step and sat back on the couch, wiping his entire face, frustratedly. He looked up to me while I'm standing near the door. "There's no really.. second chances?"
I looked away from his emerald eyes that I once admired when I was young. It's the same eyes that Armin had when we were at Shiganshina, begging me not to choose Eren for him. But I did what he asked. I don't plan on being with Eren anymore or have any reasons not to leave Armin.
"Atleast.." He paused and sighed again. "Atleast tell me.. who're you gonna be with?" He asked. "Are you.. gonna be with your boyfriend--"
"No." I said and grabbed a pen from my bag and gave it to him. "You don't need to worry. I'm gonna live with myself after our divorce." I said and remembered something before I pulled out my wallet and gently pushed his black card on the table.
"It's fine." He stared at the card and sighed. "You can keep that. Even if it's just that, I want to keep sending you money wherever you--"
"Do not worry about me. I have my own money." I cut him off. "My parent's restaurant is still under my name. Even if I work or not, my number's keep increasing for a short amount."
Eren stared at me for a moment, memorizing my features. He smiled and chuckled as he slowly placed the paper on the table and signed it.
While he was signing the papers, I took it as the chance to get in my own room and grabbed my important files. I only brought less clothes and just got my birth certificate, passport and everything.
"I'm sorry." Eren uttered as he stood up. "I'm sorry I couldn't fulfill my role as husband." He apologized. I nodded amd pulled out the marriage and engagement ring out of my fingers. It felt different because I wasn't used to it. But it's better than keeping it.
"I apologize on my behalf as well." I turned around. "I hope you can find someone." I added.
"I hope so." He whispered before I left the house. This time, I avoided myself from glancing at Armin and Historia's house. I hate goodbyes because if I did, there's a possibility that a word from them would make me stay than what I planned.
I had bothered Jean a lot. He doesn't have any responsibilities with me but he's always there, wanting to help. I don't want to waste the chance he gave just because I want to turn blind eye for Armin.
My lawyer had told me that the divorce papers will have to go through many runs that it'll take weeks and months before I could cut off Eren as my husband.
