Chapter 45

I closed the lights on the bedroom and gently closed the door after I tucked Cane to his bed. Armin, who's waiting on the outside greeted me.

He was leaning on the wall while waiting
for me to go out. I smiled and nodded as he silently followed me downstairs.

He was oddly silent after the incident at his house's kitchen the day before yesterday. It wasn't actually embarrassing but I find it amusing.

To think that he didn't talked about it and just acted like nothing somehow makes it funny.

He didn't brought up the topic about what Levi said. It's like he was avoiding the topic and didn't want to talk about it.

I thought he might bug me with it which is completely fine but he didn't. Instead, he spent time with Cane and me like it's a normal day.

I thought I'd let him forget about what he found out about my feelings but I guess it won't take long. He's acting differently today.

I went straight to the kitchen and grabbed a water out of awkwardness when he's still on the door frame.

I cleared my throat and looked at him. "Do you have.. something to say?"

He flinched and looked away. His eyes were avoiding me as he answered.

"N-Nothing important." He whispered. "I think, I should head back home now." He said.

"Mhm?" I tilted my head and placed the glass on the sink.

"I'll.. I'll just visit Cane again tomorrow."

I ignored him and opened the refrigerator. I grabbed Jean's canned beer and closed the ref back as I walked to him and handed the beer.

He stared at the beer confusingly and glanced at me.

"I don't mind if you're embarrassed about what happened the other other day. But it seems like you have something else to say. Reduce your shyness and spill it."

His eyes widened in surprised and looked at me while his face are turning red.

"How.. How did you know?" He stuttered.

I chuckled and shrugged as I gave him the beer and leaned on the table.

I don't know if he's talking about how I still love him or the accident that I overheard his conversation with Cane earlier at amusement park.

"I'll go buy a snack. Are you hungry?" I asked Cane and wiped his sweat off his face. We found a bench near the carousel so I let him seat there.

"I'll go buy instead." Armin said and dropped his phone after his call. It seems like he took a leave on his work and decided to spend time with Cane.

I wonder if it's okay since it's Monday and he's the President of his own firm.

"It's okay. I have to go to the bathroom, anyways. Why don't you just stay with Cane?" I gave him Cane's small backpack as he accepted it.

He smiled and nodded. "Okay. Be careful, then."

I went straight to the bathroom first before I found a corn dog stand sonewhere. Earlier in Jean's apartment, I was surprised when Armin visited saying he and Cane agreed to spend time with each other.

I wasn't going with them but Cane insisted so I ended up going. I'm just glad that Cane doesn't look at Armin as an stranger.

He got comfortable easily with him. I guess it's what the old people call a strong feeling
to someone who you wanted to spend your life with.
