Chapter: 35

One night after dinner, Jen, her parents and I were watching the news and talking.

'We interrupt the weather to bring you a special news report. Officers of the LAPD were called to home in the Hollywood Hills, when they got there they found a gruesome scene. The bodies of soap opera actress, Melanie June, 23 and her fiancé, 28 were found. If there are young or sensitive viewers please change the channel now. They were found stabbed to death both with multiple stab wounds, there was cult symbols written on the walls in what appeared to be their blood, and there was the word 'PIGGY' carved into the males chest. When asked for a comment the LAPD refused to say much other than they were following every lead. There seems to be a connection between these murders and the murder of a business man a few weeks ago. We will tell you more details when they become available to us.'

'Jesus' Sara says she grabs her husband's hand.

'And you thought New York was bad' Howard says, shaking his head.

I can't help to think about the similarities between these new murders and the Tate murders from over a year ago. There was too many details in common to ignore. This can't be happening again I think to myself. We watch the rest of the news hoping to hear more information but they never come back to the story. Jen and I are go upstairs and finish our homework and then we go to bed.

The next day, I couldn't sleep so I was up around 5 am. I get out of bed and stretch. I walk over the bathroom and turn on the shower, as the water heats up I go to the bathroom. I shower, brush my teeth and then I brush through my hair and put lotion on my tattoo. I pick out a light jean shorts with daisies stitched all over them, an orange and cream striped high cut tank top, my wooden sandals, my ring and I put my hair into a high pony tail with a cream colored ribbon. I put all my books in my backpack and grab my purse. I walk downstairs and I grab an orange and I make coffee. I sit and eat until Jen comes downstairs. She looks cute in some blue overalls, a white tee shirt and some clogs. In her hair is a white and blue floral printed scarf that's tied on top.

'You're up early' Jen says grabbing a cup of coffee and the cream from the yellow fridge 'Sleep okay?'

I shake my head 'No, not really but it's okay. How about you?' I ask

'I slept okay, but I wasn't here last year when everything happened. I only read about it in the newspaper.' She says grabbing an apple.

'Yeah, we have a test in history today right?' I ask her.

'Yeah, we studied quite a bit yesterday. Are you ready?' She asks.

'I think so' and I look at the clock 'Ready to head out?' I ask her and she grabs our lunches from the fridge.

Sara has been making us lunches because she thinks we don't eat enough. Jen hands me the bag and I open in quickly, today's lunch is a turkey sandwich, a muffin she made the other day and a small bag of carrots. We grab our stuff and we get into my car.

We pull into the lot and we walk inside. We say hi to Anthony who is reading his book for English class, and Molly who is putting on some pink colored lip gloss. She has been spending a lot of time with Jimmy and I haven't seen her in a while. I see Patrick and Dave walk in and I can't help but stare at my boyfriend.

He's looking real good today with his jean, burn orange and black thin striped shirt with the sleeves rolled up and the buttons undone halfway with the small chain I gave him for Christmas hanging around his neck, with a suede vest over it and I can see his tattoo. He has on his sunglasses and some brown boots.

Patrick smiles when he see's me and pulls me in for a quick kiss.

'Good morning, baby' he says opening his locker and putting his stuff inside.
