Chapter: 61
The next couple of weeks fly by and graduation is next week. I am super excited but I am nervous for some reason. I told about the necklaces and he will look into it. Finals are almost over and Patrick, Jen, Anthony and I have been studying together every after school. I'm less worried than Anthony is for sure. He has been a nervous wreck for last 2 weeks and it's kinda funny. He has made several sets of flash cards and I think Jen is in hell quizzing him all the time. There is an end of the year mixer for all the seniors and their parents and I am hoping to sneak into the office and get some photos during the party. My dad thinks it's a good time because everyone will be distracted and he can be there incase anything happens.
Finals are officially over and it's the night of the mixer and graduation is tomorrow. Patrick and I are going to meet my parents and his parents there.
I put on a burnt orange pencil skirt, a cream colored top that ties in the front and my white slouchy boots. I put my hair up in a pony tail and do some light makeup. I grab my bucket bag and I put my cameras in it along with some extra film, my lock picking kit and the rest of my detective kit, as Jen calls it. I walk into the living room and Patrick is wearing some jeans, a white button down with thin black stripes and his brown boots. 'Ready?' I say and he gets up off the couch and gives me a quick kiss.
We park in the school parking lot and I see our parents on the front stairs.
'Hey guys' I say walking up to them.
We give hugs and hellos and we go into the school. There are tables set up around the courtyard with blue table clothes. There is a table with food and punch and there are people standing and talking every where. We find Anthony and his parents and baby Daisy and we all find a table.
'Hey dad you want to look around?' I ask him and he nods ' 'Yeah, we'll be back guys' he says and Patrick gives me a soft kiss.
'Be careful baby' he says and I give him another kiss 'Always' I say and me and my dad walk to the student center.
Theres a few people in there looking at the chapel but no sign of Rev. Howard. We go into the back hallway and I see all the lockers for the tattle-tail square and their lounge area.
'Nice place' my dad says and I roll my eyes.
'Yeah, if you mind hangin out with a bunch of judgmental ass holes' I say and he laughs. I see the Rev. Howards office. 'There is the office. Cover me' I say and he nods.
I have to go in cause he's an official detective but as a consultant I kinda work in the grey area of the law. The door is locked so I take out my lock picking kit and I open the door. I close the door and I start looking around.
I take out my camera and I start taking photos of everything. I open the drawers and there is nothing that sticks out. I see the filing cabinet and I pick the lock on there as well. I take photos of all the names in there. I open the next one and I see some files on donors, including all the victims.
I take photos of everything. I open the last cabinet and I see a bunch of prayer cards and cross necklaces and I take photos of that. There is another filing cabinet so I look in those as well. In the second drawer there is receipts for the same lab as the commune. I make sure to get a photo of the name and I take more photos. In the bottom drawer there is two containers of communion wafers one with a star on it. I sneak back out of the office and my dad smiles.
'Good?' He asks and I nod.
We walk down the hall the other way and there is another room that's all white with several chairs facing a podium.
