Chapter: 13
The next day I sleep in. I just stay in bed only going downstairs to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I listened to music, mostly The Stones and just played around all day. I take a shower and put hot rollers in my hair for dinner.
Later that evening, I get dressed in a floral print bell-sleeved dress with my new lace up suede boots. I take out the rollers and put some hair spray in my hair. I go downstairs around 5:30 and my parents were already down there. My dad is wearing a gray suit with an orange and navy printed shirt and my mom has on a beautiful wrap dress that was a bright green color. She had on some geometric jewelry and tan heels. She grabs her Chanel bag and we head out the door.
We get to the restaurant and was seated within a few minutes. My parents let me drink wine at special occasions so they let me order a white wine. My dad has a beer and my mom orders a gimlet. We talked about school and work. The waiter takes our orders and then leaves. My dad orders steak and a baked potato, my mom gets some fish dish and I get chicken. Our food comes and we eat. My parents are fun to talk to most of the time because they don't push me to do anything I don't want to do. They know that kids my age should have fun but be responsible. After dinner we drive back home. My parents and I get out of the car and they stop me from going inside.
'Jo, wait a second.' My dad says 'Your mother and I just want you to know how proud we are of you. I know that school has always come easy for you but we give you so much credit working at Dairy Queen and helping me down at the office. You could be off surfing or hanging with your friends but instead you take the time to work hard and have a good work ethic. We couldn't ask for a better daughter.'
I start to tear up and I give him a hug.
My mom looks at me and says 'I can't believe you're a senior. It seems like just yesterday that you were a kid learning how to ride a bike. You have grown up to be a wonderful, caring, beautiful and responsible young lady. We talked and we think it's about time you have something to show for all your hard work' she says giving me a hug.
My dad opens the garage and I see a light blue mustang convertible sitting in it.
'Are you serious? Guys I don't deserve this. I don't have enough to pay for it yet' I tell them
'We know honey, but we want you to save that money for your future or for whatever you want to do with it.' My mom says
I literally don't have any words. All I can do, is hug my parents and give them a kiss on the cheek. I'm shocked. My dad hands me the keys and gives me another hug. We all go into he house and I race to the phone. I call Patrick hoping it's not too late.
Mr. O'Neil: Hello?
J: Good Evening Mr. O'Neil, its Jo Miller I was wondering if Patrick could come to the phone?
Mr. O'Neil: Oh, hello Jo. I remember you the girl my son always talks about. Has he finally grew a pair and asked you out?
J: Yeah he has actually. (I try not to laugh)
Mr. O'Neil: Good. I'll tell him his girlfriend is on the phone.
About a minute or so later he picks up.
P: Jo, did you tell my dad we were dating? He asks with a laugh
J: He asked me if you grew a pair and asked me out yet and I couldn't lie to him.
P: It's totally fine I just wasn't sure if he was making fun of me or not. What up? Miss me already?
J: No. (I lie.) I was just calling to tell you I'm picking you up tomorrow around 11 for orientation.
P: Wait you're picking me up? How will that work?
J: Don't worry about it. I can't wait to see you tomorrow.
P: Me too. This is the first day in like days I haven't seen you and not doing other things. I can practically hear him smirk.
J: Yeah I know. I kinda wish I had a private line right now.
P: Oh really? Me too. If we did I could ask you what you're wearing right now.
J: And if we did I would tell you. But we don't (I giggle)
P: Fine torture me. He laughs What did you do today?
J: Yesterday my mom and I went shopping. Picked out some clothes for school.
P: I'm sure you will look beautiful in all of them
J: Aww thanks but I think you will like what I picked up from Victoria's Secret more. I whisper
P: Oh I bet I will. You shouldn't tease me over the phone Jo.
J: I'm not. Besides its not like I won't see you tomorrow. I might wear this low cut jumpsuit tomorrow that hugs my body for orientation. It has this low v-neck and a zipper down the front and an open back.
P: Jo, cut it out will you. I'm getting hard just thinking about you.
J: Well on the bright side you don't have to imagine me anymore, when you take care of that problem. You've seen the real thing remember?
P: Shit Jo, really? Now I have that in my head and you aren't helping things. Luckily, I have a little souvenir from your visit the other night.
J: You do? Oh Christ, my underwear
P: Yup, I hope you don't need them
J: Nope you can keep them. It will help you remember that night. Me standing there all wet in just those
P: Jo, don't tease me baby
J: I can still remember you kissing me through them how good you made me feel
P: Baby, If you are going to keep going i'll have to hang up and do some problem solving
J: And when you made me come with your mouth just imagine how wet you made those
P: Fuck Jo, I'm literally about to come in my pants
J: Just imagine my mouth all on you using my hand to rub what can't fit. Your fingers rubbing my nipples as I blow you. I can practically feel you twitching in my mouth as you come hard and I swallow everything.
P: Ahhh, shit. (Click.)
And then Patrick hangs up. I couldn't help but giggle as I put down the receiver. I love teasing him because he always reacts to it. I run upstairs and change into shorts and tee shirt and climb into bed. All I can do is think about Patrick right now. Touching himself. Shit, I can't think about that. I toss and turn in bed for about an hour before falling asleep.
